Is David Haye vs Tyson Fury a mismatch?

 

There's no answer in the poll that's exactly right for me, but I took the first because I think Fury should be a 1 to 6 underdog in this fight.

It's not that Haye is so much better. It's that Fury's clear and biggest weakness collides exactly with Haye's strength. Haye will land that overhand right and Fury will go down, and down and down again until the referee steps in or Fury has had enough.

Fury has a chance if he can work behind the jab and can keep away from the right, or catches Haye when coming in. But that isn't very probable

 

I agree, Haye is far more explosive and more powerful than Cunningham. If he smells blood Haye will go after it. He respected Klitschko's power which is why he was so timid, against Fury different story.

 

It's a ridiculously massive mismatch.

Fury has fought nobody.

 

:deal Fury has a decent jab, reach, size advantage & has good mobility for his size. However he will be ko by haye with that overhand right.

 

Froch v a faded Kessler was a bigger mismatch and a top fighter would have taken Kessler out before round 8.

 

One of Haye's wild right hooks will detonate on Fury's chin and put him down.

Tyson will get up, David will throw about a million more wild right hooks that all miss by miles as per usual, then the referee will step in, with Fury still clearly hurt from the initial shot.

Haye is a **** finisher, but it won't matter.

 

I would say its a mismatch, but in instances Fury has shown that he can box well, and has a solid jab. He just can't consistently do it long enough to keep Haye off of him. Haye will land and he will win, it's simple.

Fury will have moments, and may even take a few rounds, but ultimately Haye will walk away with the KO

 

Tyson would have more chance staying up close and leaning that 19 stone frame on Haye than fighting behind a jab on the outside.

His defence is too leaky, if he keeps near Haye and don't let him get the space to find a big shot it would make more sense, Haye can't put combinations together on the inside.

Haye is not the puncher people make him out to be but if Fury does stay on the outside Haye will get him out of there early.

 

No it's not a mismatch, but Haye will be the big favourite.

Fury can't afford to square up onto the right hand against Haye.

Haye has only beaten Chisora recently because of inactivity
Fury has been active and beaten k Johnson Cunningham in the last 12 months

Hayes the better boxer and more explosive
Furys stronger and more of a brawler but has a lovely jab when used

I fancy haye 1-5 rounds if fury gets past 5 I think his superior strength and stamina takes over

It's a good competitive fight

 

I think Fury's problem is that he's not powerful enough to knock Haye down or out with one shot, and David ought to know that.

On the flip side, Haye is clearly capable of one-shotting Fury.

Haye inside three rounds for me. If he comes out with intent he'll finish the job inside three minutes.

defo not a mismatch, Haye certainly is a much better fighter then Tyson but he is half his size, I still fancy him to stop him but it is an intriguing match up and Tyson has a good chance if he can impose himself on the smaller man , get his jab going and land the big shot.
