    I think it's based on appearance. Mikey looks like your standard Mexican everyman, while Canelo has a distinct look and Chavez has his name.

    Most people couldn't pick Mikey out of line-up.

    That **** is just too funny. You have a kid who has speed, power,poise,technique and doesn't get the same big support of the others cause of looks?

    Then how do you explain JMM? Don't get me wrong, he is a star in Mexico but he's never had the superstar title that Jcc Jr and Canelo has or will have. Imagine if Canelo beats Floyd. Canelo instantly becomes a PPV star. JMM destroys Pacquiao and Juan basically just gets two minutes in the spotlight.

    Although Chavez is a decent fighter, a lot of his hype came from his fighting lineage.
    Alvarez has a unique look reminiscent to the late great Salvador Sanchez, and is a good fighter. Garcia of the three is probably the most skilled, but like Chavez he grew up in a family of fighters and trainers, so much like Mayweather, success is something that is expected. As much as Garcia seems like a nice guy, there's nothing about his personality that really grabs you.

    exactly. That was the point i wanted to make in this thread. Marquez, garcia and mares are 3 great, proven fighters and their are not favored for some reason

    And they win with skill, no need for 20 pound advantages on fight night.

    Canelo beats trout in a close desicion... Omg!!
    Marquez destroys pac.... Meh

    I think estrada is a better fighter than jr

    The day Marquez koed pacquiao was the same day a Mexican recording artist died in a plane crash, that's all that was being talked about on Spanish language news outlets.It completely overshadowed Marquez' victory.

    Chavez Jr isn't even a young fighter anymore idiot, so why even put them in the same category, when your pro for like 10 years, there is no longer a such thing as "hype"
