Does making the weight or not make any differance?

Garcia didn't seem to be affected by the weight drain last night. The question is does a fighter, in all aspects, is in better condition to perform better without trying to make weight? If the answer is generally yes then the advantage for being bigger in a match really plays a big part in the outcome.

Peak conditioning versus a larger size over your opponent.

if you want your answer, look at RJJ trying to make 175 after jumping up to 193 to face Ruiz, or Dawson draining down to 168 for the first time in 6 years

Both RJJ and Dawson were KO'ed from being drain and weight drain suggest you are not at your peak condition. Yet the trend seems to go with the advantage of being bigger in the match.

If what the Garcia camp said was legit , & Garcia had been sick, then the failure to make weight is understandable. He wasn't faking throwing up in that bucket

It only really affects the fighter if he struggled to make the weight.

    see DLH vs Pac.

I don't get how people are saying Mikey was drained, he just paid the fine and didn't bother trying to cut down anymore...

I think if a boxer is coming down drasticly in weight class, it matters. However, now days with the weigh in being the day before and the ability to rehadrate and refuell. I'm not sure if it makes a drifrance if a boxer is a pound or two over.

RJJ made a major move up(19 pounds) compared to others so the effects were to be expected and he knew it. Fighters moving up 7-8 pounds then down get affected, you should guess what 19+ pounds up then down in a short period of time could do. Please note, and hopefully you do unlike many ******s out there, that 3-4 or 10-20 ahtletic pounds have nothing to do with the average weakling's 2-3 o 10-20 pounds of fastfood ****(literally) a day.

Well, only the HW's can come into the ring at any weight and we have seen how some of the HW's look in their peak condition. If the fatty look is what they're satisfied with then the physique of a peak conditioned fighter for the other weight class seems to be different. Guys like Juan Diaz is an exception that comes to mind.

Of course it makes a difference. How else would Freddy ****roach make a career out of draining the opposition?
