He'll get his shot, hopefully by the time the years out.

I like Bellew but if he get's in with Stevenson, he'll look to box.

When he was in the Sky studio for the Dawson/Stevenson fight, he was asked what he thought of a potential fight with Stevenson.. his response was something like "fireworks" or "war". Not a chance will Tony look to have a fight with Stevenson no matter what he says, can't see it.

Yeh he would be stupid to try it. He did say something about not standing toe toe with him but also said he wouldn't be pushed back.

Very standard Bellew talk that. Rarely gets into wars, he's a much smarter boxer than he gives off.

At least bellew can have another fight I suppose. Against someone decent that will help him develop that little bit more before he gets this shot

Jose Olusegun was wbc mando for 3 years,if a fighter doesn't fit into the plans of the broadcast and promotion they won't get the shot.Adonis Stevenson is lineal champion now so he can more or less pick who he wants to fight.Tavoris Cloud isn't great but he makes a dam better fight for Stevenson that Tony the bummer Bellew.

Why did Eddie Hearn push tony down the WBC route? If he went down the WBO route and got himself into mandatory position a fight with Clev would of been much easier to make, would generate a lot more interest domestically which lets face it is where TB will get most attention as the American broadcasters don't seem keen. Plus it's a fight where he'd be in with a much better chance of winning considering some say he already beat Clev in their first fight. Is it boxing politics as FW is clevs promoter and Matchroom want to stear clear? Or is it because of the specific governing body? I'm quite a new boxing fan so forgive me if this is a stupid question.

Jesus. Don't see why Eddie even bothered getting Bellew to a WBC mandatory then. What a joke.

Bellew has f all pulling power in the US. Its unlikely Stevenson will come to the UK to fight Bellew. No money in it.

Cloud will provide a bigger pay day and a tougher defence on paper and will look better on Stevensons resume so i can see why he wants to defend againts him first.

I think Tony had a high ranking with the wbc so it seemed the easiest route, but the wbc are a law unto themselves. They throw titles around like they mean nothing and pick their own champions and opponents regardless of who is mandotory.I mean look at the road Lucas Matthysse has had to go down chasing the wbc title and yet he still hasn't been given the chance to fight Danny Garcia. That green title looks the part but its more won through politics rather than on merrit,Saul Alvarez won one fighting Mathew Hatton for **** sake.

Yep, at time's I struggle to see the point in boxing at all.

Unfortunately the business seems to far outweigh the sport, which is a shame for both the boxer and the fans.

Not a stupid question at all - the WBO stands for \/\/arren Boxing Organisation. If ****** has a WBO champion, he'd easily get them to have Bellew left out in the cold.

He's had them fire complete nobody's up the rankings before, it wouldn't be too hard to have nobody's fired down it either. Plus, if Bellew lost to Stevenson (or Dawson which they probably expected) it wouldn't be the end of the world. I don't think his career could take another loss to Cleverly, especially if it was a clear loss.

Put quite simply...That's boxing. We should never be surprised by anything.
