Tommy is alive but likely in horrible shape. When he attempted his comeback a few years back he at least looked to be in decent shape/health for a guy that had been battling AIDS/HIV for over a decade, then he took a turn for the worse.. Hope things get better for the guy.
Given the drugs available nowadays, there's no reason for him not to live something approaching a normal life if he's sensible. I don't know the guy, but it sounds like he's had difficulty shaking his demons, so that's not going to stand him in good stead and probably hinder the medication.

This is horrible I had no idea about any of this. I hooe he's on the mend and we hear something either way soon.
There is a guy on youtube (I think his name is sinisterlefthook) who knows Tommy personally. The last reply we got from him was something along the lines of "No he's not training or going to be in the ring anytime soon. Right now he's layed up fighting for his life." I want to say that was about 4-5 months ago. But I have no idea whats happening now, I only check up on Tommy every once in a while.
He always seems pretty happy. It seems people want to think hes dying, but as long as he doesnt think so or isnt, then good luck to him. People can live for a long to\ime with HIV now, its when it progresses to AIDS that hes near death
