One good thing about the recent changes on here has been the mass exodus of *****s. Those two may have been included in the diaspera(sp).
:bbb This fight will not be family fun time as there will be blood:dead There will be cuts:nut There will be a damn war:shock: Mack might try to walk through some heavy bombs but Golovkin drops some BIG bombs. I see Mack going down at least twice as this thing rolls into the 11th an maybe the final round. Macklin can eat some heat but I don't think he has faced a hard hitter like this killer. On the flip side Golovkin will also have his chin tested early and that is why I see this going to the final rds. Long story short....Golovkin TKO late in 12 or Wins on cards.:smoke
Mack needs to take centre stage and keep his movement to a minimum. he needs to step in with hard shots to keep GGG honest and then step back out again. he doesn't need to get ahead of himself. he needs to be smart about this. GGG shuts down when his opponent stands their ground with him. he becomes a little cautious. is this a problem for GGG? we'll find out a lot more very soon. Mack should keep his guard nice and tight and set up the big shots with the jab. keep his upper body movement moving. don't just stand straight up and still. he needs to make GGG second guess in there. i've got GGG by stoppage, but it sure as hell wouldn't surprise me if Mack takes this one. IF he does the right things. should be very interesting. i can't wait.
IF Mack attempts to walk through the storm once to often he will go down:nut GGG could also find himself hearing a ref count based on his not so often tested body an chin with a kid like Mack BIG QUESTION....IS THE RISK WORTH THE REWARD:smoke
Macklin is far and away Golovkin's best opponent but he's also absolutely the easiest match-up for him to take on in the top 10. Like even with other flawed fighters, you can still see an outside way they could potentially win (e.g., Quillin with his power, Chavez Jr with his size, Geale with his volume). With Macklin I see absolutely no way he can win this fight. He'll either do his usual style, in which case his shakier chin and lesser power gets him taken out early, or he'll attempt to fight off the back foot, in which case he'll take somewhat less damage early but look absolutely ineffective, much like he did against Martinez and like Rosado attempted to do against Golovkin.
Looking to see Golovkin get seriously tested... Wasnt impressed w/ the Rosado fight. It was pretty competitive, though he about won every round. He didn't dominate though, and his defense wasn't as good as expected. Mebbe Rosado was a tougher fighter than expected? He took GGG's best shots pretty well
no he didnt. He was on his bike going backwards, slipping etc. Ggg never managed to catch him with his best shots because maricon didnt came to fight.
Funny thing about GGGs defense. You know he's got it cos of the ams and also in every fight fight he starts pretty tight and slow. He feels his opponents strength, works out what they've got to offer, if they're any threat. Gradually over the first two rounds he starts letting them feel his own power, and weighs up how they react. Usually he starts hitting his stride around rnd 3, often he starts opening up a bit more cos he's figured his opponent can't really hurt him. The stories abound about him fighting even light heavies and cruisers in sparring, and the often touted reason is that the lighter weights can't take his power. Less often mentioned is the other reason- according to Abel the lighter punchers simply do not keep Gennady honest - he just walks through them, thus gaining no defensive experience. You see this in his fights too. It's not that he can't defend, just that he's willing to take the shots he already knows he can to land his own. Watch him again when he gets tagged a few times. He actually moves that head just enough most of the time and shoulder blocks, and when he has to, the tightest of guards comes up, but the very moment the pressure slackens he's back closing down his opponent like he was tied to them with elastic. His pressure fighting is incredible. Once he's felt his opponent out and knows what is on offer, he just never stops closing down and pressing his foe. Like a merciless torturer in a medieval dungeon, he just keeps tightening the screws 'til they can physically take no more. It's this aggressive, but calculated, methodical and relentless approach to his fights that make it hard to see how he can be beaten. We can be sure it'll happen one day, if he he fights long enough, but I can't see it happening any time soon.
Lovely 'tube link. Someone's labour of love by the looks. 27 mins of Golovkin training footage and highlights / KOs of all his pro fights (where footage is available). ***********.youtube.com/watch?v=T3NynmUPXHU
Golovkin really hasnt fought anybody. Macklin is from the UK so I see why everyone on the forum is picking Golovkin to win. Somethings never change.
the risk is definitely worth the reward. if Mack loses, where does he go? but if he wins, he has a lot of options no matter what he has left after the fight. another good move for Mack would be to step in with his shots and then duck under the left hook of GGG, and move to the side to get himself set again. i've been watching both fighters recently. Mack has a great opportunity here if his mind and tactics are right. he shouldn't believe the hype. :good
the biggest mistake that Mack could do would be to take the fight on the back foot. if he does that he's toast. he be gradually broken down. he needs to stand his ground. trust me. GGG has a few weaknesses that i've seen.
