Has Floyd Mayweather ever beaten an ATG in his prime?

Well he beat everyone and did try to clean out the majority of the divisions he was in as he went up in weight classes over the years.

At the lighter weights, he constantly called out the likes of prime Casamayor at 135, Kosta at 140 and Mosley at pretty much every weight class (started calling Shane out when Shane was the ruler of the 135 division.) NONE of those guys seemed too interested fighting a prime Mayweather, and I don't blame them because Floyd was an incredible 2 way fighter at the lower weights with a respectable amount of power in his punches.

Floyd gets a lot of crap for "ducking fighters," but this idea of him doing so only began around 147, when he became the major draw in boxing and had no interest in fighting guys like Margarito or Paul Williams, who while both were great fighters, brought next to nothing as far as marketing goes -maybe Margs had a little hype because of his Mexican following but he still was no boxing "superstar."

I think he would've beat both those guys at 147, but it wouln't matter, haterswant FLoyd to lose so badly that they'll always hypothesize matchups that never materialized for Mayweather and than blame him for the fight not getting made.

His best wins though were against Corrales, JLC, Genaro, Chop Chop, Judah, De La Hoya, Hatton and Marquez. There's many other top-tier names under his resume, but those guys at their respective stages in their career were excellent victories for Floyd.

 

You're wrong about Margarito. He was a big draw and Floyd was offered 8 mil guaranteed purse to fight him. Mind you, this was before Floyd started making mad money he is making now, and 8 mil was up there with career high paydays.

First, how many ATG are there? Seems like every other fighter is ATG these days according to nuthuggers. The only ATG iI can think of for Floyd to fight in this era are DLH and Pacquiao. Other than that, who else? Arum avoids Floyd like the plague so Pac v Floyd will not happen until they're both past their primes.

Mosley is not ATG - 50% record since 2001, his picture is next to overhyped in the dictionary
