The dude was outmatched but not outclassed

He was landing punches nearly at will and was beating broner to the punch, its just a shame seeing as the big size advantage was apparent on the night but despite taking shots from the stronger man Rees was sticking in there and showed a tremendous amount of heart and will, he didnt have to take this fight. he could have just sat down at european level and wait for a shot at Ricky Burns but came to win on the night and wasnt just another opponent like vincento escobedo

Not taking anything away from Broner as much as i may dislike him but you have to give respect to Rees

    5'4 - 33 years old

and soon will fight for the WBO Lightweight title

37 - 2 - 1 (18ko) Only losses coming to Adrien Broner and Andriy Kotelnik

Considering the size of Broner, yes it was quite impressive he lasted so long. Broner should move up to 154lbs.

Broner should win easily tonight However if Paulie finds a way to take him in the deep waters things will get really interesting but I dont think it last long 5 rounds tops Broner wins

The thing that impressed me with the rees fight was that, although gavin isn't the biggest puncher he's not exactly a light puncher and has also come down from 140.. so you'd expect his power to be a little better.. broner just walked through him like he was absolutely nothing.

Rees has pretty much always fought above his weight hes a 130 fighter fighting as high as 140, Broner however has always looked around 147-154 but for some reason has fought at 130-135 but chose to skip a very deep talented division in 140 choosing to fight a light hitting Welterweight in Malignaggi

Now it may be Goldenboy protecting Garcia as much as possible ( rumour is Garcia will be fighting Judah again instead of Mathysse ) and they wouldnt put Broner in with Matthysse seeing how easy he was getting hit Vs Rees

Rees started his career at Superfeatherweight and was always a blown up Lightwelterweight, He was pushing Broner back a lot but because of the 3 1/2 inch height advantage he found it a lot easier to tee off on him when he found the distance to with the combinations. Rees let Broner get into his head and wanted to knock him out but he could have possibly won had he stuck to the gamplan and fought patiently but Broner got to him in the end

I dislike Broner but I dont hate on him, hes got good handspeed and decent power in his hands but he needs to start fighting guys who carry as much weight as he does in fights, I mean hes gone up to Welterweight to fight Malignaggi and is seen as the clear favorite

Thurman and Maidana are ready to fight, Lucas Mathysse will likely move up in weight once he beats Garcia and there is always the lucrative Floyd Mayweather fight that is bound to happen given how Broner "doesnt want to hand Mayweather a loss"

Im not going to even mention Alvarado/Rios/Bradley/Provodnikov/Pacquiao/Marquez because Arum and HBO has got those guys tied up with each other :-(

Rees did land some solid punches in that fight, and that should give Paulie hope, but we might see a different Broner tonight then the one who fought Rees. We also might see a different Paulie also then who we saw in his last fight. Both guys might step it up and it could be unpredictable. There is serious friction between Broner and Paulie, and we have 12 rounds or less to decide it. The one thing to look for in this fight is to see if Broner can really hurt Paulie. This is the question most people have as he is jumping up two weight classes.

All criticism aside im just looking forward to a great night of boxing

    Broner V Malignaggi
    Mitchell V Banks
    Bika V Periban

Its been a while since ive seen Bika fight live, havent done so since the Andre Ward fight (which was a lot closer than those hometown cards suggested)

He doesn't really have the height for 154, i mean what is he 5 6? Canelo fights at 154 and weighs 175+ broner weights 150+ but should fight at 154?? He's just doing what youngsters do and thats fighting as low as they can while they can.. he'l eventually be at a point when he can maybe just about make 140 and won't be able to go lower. canelo is the same case, eventually he'l have to move up

Completely agree he definitely needs to step it up. I think broner v maidana would be a very good fight

boxrec have him as 1.70cm = 5.57 according to google but it also says he's 5 ft 7, how does that make sense? haha.. either way he doesn't look 5 7 to me and is definitly too short and small for the top 154 fighters in my opinion.. 140-147 are definitely broners weights.

Rees was 5'4 and still managed to capture a belt at 140, theres nothing to say that Broner cant get a 154 belt considering Canelo cant drain himself forever but then again you have Trout, Cotto, Angulo, Lara, Matiroysan, Smith, Bundrage, Molina

Speaking of Cotto hes only 5'7 himself, and since when was he fighting Cornelius Bundrage? its news to me, was a bit shocked when i looked it up on boxrec
