It could be worse Billy .......it could be the Forge.

I'm sure with a little more effort and maybe money you guys could have got hold of more tape.

I can completely believe the overtraining thing as his timing seemed well off. and anyone who has done anything in a boxing gym knows that sometimes your body turns up and for whatever reason you just don't have it that day. the mental fortitude to get through that was great.

however, I like many others (I believe) think the performance had more to do with the supprisingly good performance of Gonzalez.

Interested to know who the matchmaker was and what footage they based making the match on.

I have no doubt that Ricky could have been much better than he was, but Gonzalez was certainly better than any of you guys expected.

It kind of had the look of the 'man' in the gym who is widely regarded as the best taking on an unasuming kid who walks through the door and find out that he can't have his way with him.

Anyways many lessons to be learned.

Look forward to the next one!!!

Best of luck to you both./

The matchmaker was the WBO it was Ricky's mandatory mate, we openly admitted he was better than what we had previously seen.
With regards to spending money to get more footage of him, I have many contacts for DVDs and none had any footage apart from what was on YouTube.
Anyway we had about 5 fights of Gonzalez and he never boxed anything like they way he did against Ricky so it didnt matter, normally Ricky would have contolled him behind his jab but on this occasion was out of distance many times.WONT HAPPEN AGAIN THOUGH!

the story is written without ant quotes from Ricky or his management, he's putting two and two together with regards Rees or corolla.
Basically he took the story off the net and didn't bother contacting the other side for the thoughts, however this IMO is typical of his journalism which many in the sport up here have too exemption too

Surely ricky must get frustrated if he gets put back into domestic fights?

  14. Burns should get in the ring with Broner this year before Broner has fully evolved from a great prospect to a great fighter.

Burns would gain more respect when he lost to Broner than fighting little Gavin Rees who has already been exposed badly this year.

The Broner fight has been and gone. Ricky had two chances to fight him and didnt take either (yes Billy we have heard your reasons a million times ;-) )
