This is gonna blow up big time. Bank fight was sad. Carried seth all night. Looked like sparring Broner is ****.
i agree. if banks landed three meaningful punches in one round, seth would have been sleep. Had him rocked 2-3 times, and let him slide...
No worries. Respect to Paulie, but when Broner fights someone sharp with power........it's back to Dennys washing dishes.
Then wlad vanished after the banks fight. He was ringside. Im guessing wilder vs mitchell coming into play on sept 14 card. Put mitchell away for good
My Dad thought the same thing about the Banks Mitchell fight. I didnt and still dont want to think that it was rigged but it was surprising to see Banks shut down after hurting Seth like he did.
I said this before the 1st fight. Banks was supposed to be a sacrifice for a Wlad/Mitchell fight, likely in the US. Banks didn't want the rematch, especially after the injury, but Wlad pressured him into it because overall K2 makes more money. It's a crap move by Wlad as a promoter and supposed friend. I think there's conflicts of interest in this relationship between Banks and Wlad.
If Banks beat Mitchell tonight, then what? He's not a top 10 heavy and knows it, which is why he's got one foot out the door as a fighter as it is. Truth is, he'll make more money training Wlad than he will fighting himself. Ironically enough, by not doing anything tonight against Mitchell, Jonathan helps line up another possible easy defense for Wlad and sets himself up to make more money than if he'd actually won the fight.
If Banks vs. Mitchell II was rigged than Banks is the worst fighters to ever have "carry" a fight in the history of faking fights. The ref could have jumped in during round 3 to stop the fight and absolutely nobody would've complained about it. He had Mitchell beyond ready to go and allowed himself to get physically dictated around the ring nearly every single round afterward.
How about some analysis to back it up? Banks had him virtually finished and just stopped throwing, why is that? Why did Banks rematch him in the first place when he KO'd him without controversy in the 1st fight and had nothing else to prove?
:deal Glad someone thinks along the same lines as me. From a business standpoint, throwing the fight will make Banks and Wlad much more money than a win would. Wlad makes millions when he fights, and Banks gets his share as a trainer/sparring partner. Plus Banks can rubbermatch Mitchell after Wlad half-kills him. This definitely sets up the "I must go to the US to fight the young talent and avenge my trainer's loss."
