That people are taking more of a liking to Floyd?

Broner's lack of sportsmanship, pure boxing skill, and overall star power make most people want to throw up when you hear everyone comparing him to Floyd. Honestly, he makes Floyd look like an elder statesman when they're in the same building. Even Floyd's haters have to admit that boxing is much better off with Floyd as the cash cow than that idiot Broner.

Floyd has respect for the sport of boxing and his opponents. I've never seen floyd behave the way broner does. Broner is a scumbag and it's sad that someone like him can lead the life he does, boxing will be a better place when he either retires or gets knocked out

Yes. I like Floyd the fighter and get annoyed with Floyd the person, but Boner's such a piece of sh** that I can't even bring myself to appreciate what he does in the ring (albeit against a bunch of cans and a past prime Paulie Malignaggi). I bet all the people who want to see Floyd KTFO would equally like to see Boner paralyzed from the forehead down.

Maybe Broner is getting his tyres pumped by Floyd as part of a masterplan to make Floyd look better....basically a crappy version of Floyd to make Floyd look better

i agree, i still dont like floyd much, but broner makes me appreciate how much better floyd is to this cartoon of a man. regardless of my feelings towards floyd, i recognize him as a master of what he does, broner is just nowhere near as good at anything he does to even compare to floyd.

I didn't need Broner's emergence to appreciate Floyd, but Floyd couldn't ask for someone better to play the ugly wingman role- as long as Broner's in the picture, he'll always look a million times better.

With all sports, people take a liking to the athlete when he is a "veteran," shows some maturity in life over the span of years, and especially when you can compare them to the new crop of up-and-comers. Much like the way Kobe's reputation went.

I know exactly what you mean. Broner's phony bravado has really made me appreciate Floyd's authenticity. I heard the same thing from a guy I randomly struck up a conversation about boxing with at a car dealership.

Floyd really seems like he means what he says when he threatens his opponent. Broner comes off like a cheap Apollo Creed spinoff. I half suspect that Broner is doing some sort of brilliant Andy Kauffman-esque performance art parody of Mayweather.

I must admit I fall in to this category. Though it's not all just down to Broner coming along and claiming the biggest twat in boxing title from Floyd by a landslide. Broner is such an idiot he actually makes Mayweather look respectful and humble.

I have never been a fan of Mayweather, found his personality to be very abrasive, but respected his talent and skills. But as he has gotten older and his physical attributes have declined and his fights have become slightly competitive and no longer a one sided beating and display of his complete superiority over everyone, I have warmed to him as a fighter.

He is no longer in his prime, he's a little slower and not as mobile as before so has to rely on his great technique which I admire, Floyd has never been just about being faster and more athletic than his opponent, he's skilled and smart in the ring. I prefer watching this version of Mayweather and his choice in fighting a tough opponent in Canelo has also given the fans what they want.

I'm still not a Mayweather fan never will be but my admiration for him as a fighter has grown.
