Lampley is good but Roy Jones is an annoying commentator now

Roy Jones on HBO over the last few years is so much more entertaining as a commentator then Hopkins was last night.

And even if you disagree with that, wouldn't you agree that in general HBO is by far the more professional boxing telecast?

The best HBO can do is recycle Manny Pacquiao vs one of his last few opponents.

Even though I like Paulie on Showtime, HBO's crew seems to do a better job with the commentating. I think they just carry themselves better.

After watching some of their fights and all access this year, Showtime clearly has their finger back on the pulse.

The only thing that I would still take HBO over Showtime any day of the week, is their commentary and analysts. Kellerman and Lampley are beauts, with nice supporting cast around them.

I was very much behind Showtime long before this whole GBP/HBO falling out but since Al Haymon and Delahoya got their claws into it showtime have proved to be just as corrupt as HBO, they were pretty much threatening Malignaggi for speaking out against Al Haymon

Showtime has been putting a lot better fights this year than HBO and that's a fact and the reason HBO is probably doing better is because of subscriptions. People just don't subscribe to HBO just got boxing but for movies and shows and it's been like that for many years. Showtime has been really picking up the pace as far as fights goes and to be honest HBO pretty much screw themselves because a lot of good fighters left HBO. This is all because a dispute between the promoters and network which is pretty pathetic considering at the end of day there going to make money. HBO may have more views because of subscriptions but as far as fight card goes Showtime is the clear winner.

Last night was a 15-1 showcase they paid $2.75m for. That's after possibly losing 12m on the PPV. Now Espinoza is saying there may not have enough money for Garcia Matthysse, and they don't want Hopkins Kovalev cause the other guy is unknown, but sign off on Murat. Face it, there's a good reason GBP/Haymon were banished from HBO.

Btw, remind me of all these great fights SHO put together this year. Start with the 4 months before Canelo Trout.

showtime has some good match-ups now and then but hbo overall makes better fights....especially this hershman era.

    gbp/showtime fanboys are just exaggerating.

Showtime is so much better its insane. I respect HBO for Rigo/Donaire and Bradley/Marquez but thats for us hardcores.

Who cares if these networks or promoters lose money? I just want the best fights made and Showtime is giving it to us
