Not the smartest idea for Moorer to make Foreman 1st title defense but who knew!?

I agree with you to an extent. Moorer did win the title fair and square from a well respected champion. MM had excellent ability. He could box and punch with a supreme right jab. His chin was vunerable but he had heart.

I dont think he got enough out of his ability. He seemed to lack confidence in himself at the elite level. Didnt let his hands go enough.

I agree. With that said how do you see Tyson fighting Foreman?

That is what I am saying. There is no shame to be stopped by Foreman, Tua, or Holyfield. Three is no shame to get knocked down by Bert Cooper and Cooper had Holyfield out.

One thing you said is wrong though. Just because Holyfield stopped Moorer then Bowe and Lewis could? Morrison and Briggs were alot harder punchers than Holyfield and yet they couldn't hurt Foreman but Holfyfield could.

Holyfield hurt Moorer in their second bout the first time was after Moorer hurt Holyfield and got wild and walked into a counter puncher. That is what hurt Moorer.

Moorer seemed destroyed mentally after he lost to Foreman but he still a damn good fighter.

I'm still kinda divided on that one...whereas I think young Foreman would destroy Tyson, I think Tyson would haver inflicted tremendous damage to the old Foreman,...I mean, look at what the mediocre Alex Stewart did. I cringe at what Tyson would have done...

I say this from time to time, but I mean it,.....Tommy Morrison fought the best fight of his career vs Foreman. He was smart, disciplined and showed he had more than one dimension.

And red cobra look at the damage Buster Douglas did to Tyson so you clearly don't know what the hell you are talking about.

Moorer was never going to remain champion, better for Old Foreman to do the job and KO the fat.

Tyson also ate at least 6 headbutts in the first bout. Could have swore Mike
hurt Evander in round 1, haven't watched fight in a while. But Moorer had the
goods, just not the chin to handle elite HW power. Bowe and Tyson stop
Moorer early imo. Morrison and Mercer are tossups, Lewis prob scores an early KO. As for the Foreman fight, it was a brilliant move for 9 and a half rounds.
I believe that the first 1 2 combo hurt Moorer bad and before he could get on his bicycle the other combo finished him.

No one saw what happened coming. Everyone saw Foreman as a mark.

Foreman was old, slow, and lethargic against Morrison though. Looking good against that version of Foreman is nothing to brag about. Alex Stewart and Axel Schultz probably fought the best fights of their careers against Foreman as well, but that's probably not saying much! It's easier to look good against an older, slower, plodding type of opponent.

I think we all know that:patsch...of course what I'm making note of is that relatively speaking,...compared to Moorer, who suffered the disgrace of losing his title by ko to a man old enough to be his father...Alex Stewart, who still lost...and the others that Foreman beat in his reincarnation, that Morison did exceptionally well. At least he used his head.
