It is not your place to make a judgment about whether you will “tolerate” another persons opinions.

The whole point of having a forum is that some people will hold radically different opinions to you.

One thing that there can be absolutely no doubt about, is that Louis would go after the heavyweight title if he were around today. His mentality as a fighter as much as his ability was one in a million.

The best way to visualise what Louis was in modern terms, would be to imagine a former cruiserweight with the all round punching arsenal and mentality of Evander Holyfield, but with the power of David Haye. Such a beast would have been able to dismantle Riddick Bowe, and would very likely have turned the trick against Lewis.

When a fighter has that kind of destructive ability, being big just makes you a bigger target.

But I'm willing to across any division.

The best of today are not as good as the best of the past.

Who's the best MW? Martinez. Is he better than Hagler? Would he have beaten Hagler?

Who's the best WW? Floyd. Would he have beaten Hearns, Leonard or Robinson? His he as good as those fighters?

Who's the best LW? Vazquez or Gamboa. Are they better than Duran? Would they both have beaten him?

Who's the best LHW? Stevenson? Would he have beaten Spinks or Foster? Does he look as good to you?

Who's the best LMW? Alvarez. Would he have beaten a peak Mike McCallum, or Tommy Hearns? Is he better than them?

If I had Doc Brown's Delorean, I'd bring them back as they were, without the advantage of sports science etc, and I'd bet my life that they'd clean out each of today's divisions.

    That's just 5 examples.

    HW - Prime Ali.

MW - Ward and Calzaghe aren't MW's. they would have had to have fought at LMW.

LW - Would Floyd have beaten Benny Leonard or Duran? You could make an argument, but you couldn't say yes with any certainty.

    BINGO!

The best guys in each weight class today, wouldn't beat the best guys of the past in my opinion.

Prime Ali???....i don't believe he'd win but maybe if he hat been fed properly from birth he would have been a few inches taleer and heavier and stronger..

MW: I used them for arguments sake..I think the 3 mentioned would be the best at mw-lhw..

As for Floyd..i think he's the goat in terms of skill and technical ability.
Do you not think Floyd has learned from past fighters? Obviously he has..he's also been trained by people who fought the best...
    :bbb
Calzaghe...his father wasn't a boxer but learned from past fighters and installed it in joe..

Don't want to talk about LMW or WW cause we all know Hearns destroys every1
