    atberry,

    What's all this about?

    Both fighters were outstanding fighters.

But why are you spinning things?

    I don't get it?

Roy wasn't in full gear against Mike, and Toney did fight a much younger version of him, but it wasn't a peak version.

Yes, Toney beat a younger version of Reggie. But so what? Roy didn't get that same opportunity, and he didn't fight him till 99. It's just circumstances. Are you saying Roy couldn't have beaten the 160 version? Reggie was past his best against Roy, but he wasn't shot.

What the hell does Roy getting knocked out by Tarver at 35 have to do with anything?

He was made to look like a fool against Griffin? What the hell are you talking about?

So what? Hopkins was superior to Tiberi. Ha! What's the purpose of this? Hill wasn't shot. He knocked out Tiozzo in a round, two years after Roy had destroyed him.

Eric Harding was a big southpaw. Styles make fights. Toney struggled with guys. How the hell did Griffin school Roy? Also, Griffin beat Toney twice and then lost to Harding. Tony Thornton and Malinga made Roy look silly? He knocked them both out!

What do you think Roy would have done to Barkley?

    Your whole post is ridiculous!

They are both two absolute legends.

Griffin out-feinted and out-boxed Jones all the way through.

If Jones laid on the ropes against Barkley, he wouldn't have stood a chance -N'night!

    All the way through?

You mean he fought a great fight up until the 9th round.

Griffin was a good fighter who beat Toney twice.

He caused Roy a few problems, but Roy was on his way to beating him, until his act of stupidity.

You said that he schooled Roy.

Why would Roy have ever have laid on the ropes against Barkley?

so crazy that you would say that? Typical of boxing fans who think everybody from another country is a bum. Tszyu is one of the greatest fighters I have ever seen in my life and in his prime he was one of or even the only undisputed champion of a division. People were saying he would even beat Duran and I would probably favor him over Duran.
So if I see somebody write a comment like you did, I know everything I need to know about him.

Do me a favor and don't take Tszyu's name into your mouth when 1.) you don't know anything about him and 2.) you can't even spell his name.

Point being Toney laid on the ropes against Barkley and did what he did to him. Jones couldn't have done that in a million years.

Yep, one of the greatest fighters of all time, who started out at 154 and won a version of the HEAVYWEIGHT title, couldn't box.

While Tszyu is a legit Hall of Famer and on a different level than Benn and Eubank, it's amusing that on a thread propagating such drooling insanity as "Robbie Sims is a better win than Bernard Hopkins" and "Iran Barkley would destroy Roy Jones", the Tszyu comparison is the post you took issue with

I'm assuming that the Tszyu>Duran reference is just an attempt to fit in with the general jabberwocky. If so, jolly good show :good

    Styles make fights.

Roy iced Griffin in a round, who beat James twice.

Roy wouldn't have laid on the ropes against Barkley.

Roy had a different style to James.

I'm quite certain that Roy would have had an easy night against Barkley.

I didn't read every post in the thread, so I didn't even come across the Robbie Sims comment.
I think Tszyu would beat Duran but of course most people will tell you Duran has a greater legacy because he moved up in weight and won titles while Tszyu stayed at 140.
But that has nothing to do with what would happen if Tszyu and Duran met at 140.

Griffin didn't beat Toney twice, not in reality. Everybody who watched both fights would tell you Toney won them. I had both close, but I really cannot see how you can score them for Griffin.

Atberry has gone delusional on us..

I always knew he picked Eubank, G-Man and Benn to knock out a peak Roy... Now he has added Toney and Barkley to the list of people that would destroy Roy.:patsch

Why in the world do skill and talent have to be 2 seperate things?? I think they go hand in hand..

Roy Jones was skilled, it may not have been textbook, but it was skill. As well was Ali.

And how many of those opponents were able to land anything meaningful against the bewilderd, neck strecthed, head turned, eyes shut Jones?
