Do people really think Ward vs Bute would be a foregone conclusion?

It's funny to see the Ward haters say Ward ducked Bute. And now that Froch beat Bute, they're saying Bute's done mentally and he's past prime just so if Ward beats him in the future, it won't be a decent win. Comical.

 

He fought Dawson? Yea, after Bute was brutally knocked out. So Bute was a non-factor at that point. Bute is a Canadian hype job who utterly exposed by the SECOND BEST FIGHTER IN THE DIVISION. You think he would have a shot against the top guy?

And let's not pretend that Froch and his team are eager to face Ward again, in the UK or not. They know he will lose, again.

 

Ward was injured. i'm not disputing that. but if Ward had of agreed to fight Bute next, then Bute would have taken a stay busy fight in Canada to keep the rust off, then taken on Ward. he would never have come to the UK to fight Froch if a guarantee was in place. no way.

did you actually see any of the interviews that Ward did around that time? he was contradicting himself left right and centre.
he said that he couldn't fight Bute because he'd signed to face Froch. it was Ward who said that he needed to fight one of the big boys in order to get a fight with him in the first place.
then he said he picked Froch to beat Bute. atsch
why would he ask Bute to build the fight into a bigger attraction down the road when he picked Carl to win the fight?

Ward vs Bute was the biggest fight in the division for all the marbles. it made perfect sense for the fight to happen. don't make excuses.

so Froch beating Bute means Ward would do the same even though Froch and Ward couldn't be further away in styles? yeah, because it works out like that all the time doesn't it? :-(

Bute fought who he could while the rest were in the tournament. he wasn't invited.

Yes it is and would be, what would Bute do get smothered and try to land left uppercuts and short right hooks when he can - in the process get wobbled by not all to hard rights and lefts and end up knocked out from precise combination punching.

I think they hit with equal force, honestly.

And yes, I think Ward vs. Bute would have been won by Ward 9 times out of 10 if they fought the date that Bute fought Froch.

dominate? he should have been DQ'd against Kessler. Bika was close. he held on all the time against Froch which he took on my card by only 2 points.

everyone else he fought in that tournament was there for the taking. so don't go jumping for joy any time soon.

Larroche can say whatever he wants but the fact is they negotiated a fight with Froch as soon as he lost the S6 for TWO fights.
They were convinved Froch was done and would be there for the taking for two big earning fights.
His camp knew he was waiting to be exposed and signed him away from Ward.


Ward being a light hitter is totally false. Froch couldn't walk thru Ward when he had only one hand , but walked thru everything the big puncher Bute threw at him.
Wards track record are all against guys with stone chins.

for what beating the **** out of him?. Bika was such a shitty fight I didn't bother scoring so I will take your word for it. Froch was fairly close I thought he took it by 4 rounds myself. No ones jumping for joy until a exciting fight gets made which Ward usually is not going to be a part of.

Bute wanted to fight Ward, even in Oakland, but Ward turned around and told him he needed to beat someone like Froch or a Kessler to get the fight with him.

when Bute went looking for another fight, Froch showed interest and it was signed. they came up with one fight in the UK, the other in Canada. well, Froch beat him so badly that it seemed stupid to have a rematch.

AFTER the fight was signed with Foch, Ward was asked why it wasn't HE that was fighting Bute. he claimed that he couldn't because he'd already signed to fight Froch. it was Ward's IDEA for him to fight someone else, not Bute. Bute was willing to rock any time Ward wanted it.

then,to top it all off, Ward was asked who he thought would win between the pair... Ward turned around and said Froch.

why would he ask Bute to fight someone else to build the fight up (it didn't need building, it was already hot and had been talked about for over a year) then pick Froch to win it??

Ward likes his fighters with no inside game. Kessler, Froch, Dawson and Pavlik... you see? Bute could fight on the inside, at range, and if you tried to get close, would wack that big uppercut in.
