He was fighting a faded, feather fisted fighter, who everybody expected to be blown away within 6 rounds.Go check the pre fight threads and betting odds. Broner barely threw a punch the whole fight and won by SD and you idiots were impressed !!!! Why didn't he close the show ? Khan and Hatton battered a far better version of Paulie from pillar to post, and everybody knows Paulie got a gift against Cano, yet Broner had Paulie cornered numerous times and couldn't do anything. He's a ****in hypejob and that will become obvious the first time he gets in the ring with any of the real deal 140 or 147lber's. He managed to dry down to 130 and 135, where he was able to bully smaller fighters, that won't happen at 140 and 147. As for trying to fill Floyds boots, he couldn't even lace Floyds boots.
Broner has the talent, it's undeniable. His only problem was that the idiot thought he made it before he actually has. He thought Malignaggi was gonna be a push over. His attitude is gonna be the end of him, not his ability (which he has plenty of).
I was impressed with his defense, but not his lack of activity. He only fought in spurts, and this could really get him in trouble against a high-volume puncher who actually has some power behind their punches. But his defense was exceptional for the most part, especially since he stayed in the pocket the majority of the time in that shell defense and couldn't get hit by anything of note. I'd rather see him go down to 140 though and attempt to become a major player in that division first. It's unusual to see a guy jump up a few weight classes for a title fight, last one I could remember was Hopkins doing it with Tarver. So it was definitely an impressive victory for Broner, but he took on literally the weakest champion in the division. I'd like to see how he does against the top dogs at 140 or 147.
He performed about how I expected him to. This was his first fight at 147 against a titleholder and a tough SOB. The guy was fighting at 130 this time last year so anyone who expected him to just run right through Paulie was fooling themselves. Broner is still young he's still learning he will get better. With that said he's an exciting fighter and is good for the sport.
thumbsup:thumbsup I'm not a big fan of Broner either, but I agree completely 100% There really is no logical answer against this unless someone is hating as usual.
Why are you rolling your eyes at be *******? I called this fight when it was signed that Pauile would give Broner a tough fight. You're just too stupid to realize that Broner struggles with guys who use movement. If he fights types like Demarco he will always look great. Not only this he was fighting at 130 this time last year the guy has moved up 3 weightclasses in less than a year name another fight who has done this today and still been successful.:hi:
