As someone who can remember watching Cassius Clay in black and white with dreadful quality from American tv,I'm not bothered about HD......I do like paying a tenner.I notice at least one poster on this thread has had a go about it and they don't even subscribe? To me these international events in early hours on Sun are great.....plates sarnies, flowing coffee,or something stronger listen to the stupid pair on that set they bought from Crossroads.brill I'm as happy as the proverbial pig!.Surely the increased exposure for Hatton and Maloney will allow them to strengthen their stables so good all round for the fans.
Another ignorant statement, I would imagine most people on here are in employment. As many people on here have stated before, including myself, we will buy most PPVs as we are boxing fans, we do not want to miss the big live fights. Just not ones that aren't worthy of being PPV and should be on normal sky sports.
Simple answer is, if you don't think it's PPV worthy, don't buy it. It's such a stunningly simple and obvious concept. I cannot understand why it is so difficult for you to grasp. If everyone felt like you did, PPV wouldn't exist.
Your back tracking now. As boxing fans we don't want to miss Froch v Kessler 2 or any big fight, we want to watch it live. As I have said before I will happily purchase PPV fights that PPV worthy, I buy pretty much all of them. This one in question wasn't and everyone knows it. You just can't get your head round it because your either related to Carl Froch or someone connected with him or much more likely you just want to be. Which again makes you a sad pathetic loser who thinks he understands the game more than others on this forum, which makes you both those things again along with also being ignorant.
Of course I can get my head around it. Fact is you are wrong. If it wasn't a PPV fight, it would have sold as such. Had people voted by keeping their money in their pockets Sky would have had to go back to the drawing board. This didn't happen because people DID buy the fight. I love the name-calling, are you a 12 year old? For your sake I hope you as it'd explain a lot.
What sort of planet do you inhabit that says Haye vs Fury is fine on PPV but Ward vs Froch isn't? ****ing hell atsch
I was just replying to your initial name calling to me when I put my points across a couple of days ago so you have no one to blame but yourself. Also I doubt a 12 year old would be able to afford all the PPVs I pay for along with the Mayweather fights I was at last month and the one I am going to in 3 months. Luckily for me though I am on the dole so its ok.
Lets just agree to disagree now and move on. Say hello to Carl for me when you pick up his dry cleaning.
The trouble is as a fan who detests paying for something twice......yet has done it regularly over the years both sides of this argument is right!,, I am not convinced by the argument that some bouts are so big that they can only be financed by ppv,Haye v Chisora for example.but I am we'll aware that fifteen quid is probably only a tenth of what I would spend if I went to see it live, too bloody idle anyway.I think the only way to stop promoters getting too greedy is to make sues there is plenty of competition,on diff channels etc
Its simple, boxing is a business Haye and Fury are household names/celebrities and heavyweights to boot and they will both command millions of pounds in purses. The fight will grab the attention of the public with even casuals coughing up to watch the fight. The fight will be so big that the promotion will include interviews with both fighters appearing on terrestial tv programmes such as daybreak and other primetime chat shows. In other words its a ****ing big fight and all involved will need to be paid and only PPV can provide the revenue streams - the fans want to see it so the demand will be there...Froch v Ward great fight (on paper wont be in reality) but nobody outside of boxing fans will be bothered and certainly wouldnt have heard of Andre Ward let alone be prepared to pay £20 for it. I certainly wont be ordering and I'm a boxing nut as I know Ward will win easily in a boring fight I'm not going to enjoy pressing the red buttton and parting with £20 pound by the way but hopefully I've answered your question atsch
