Question for all those who say Paulie was landing to the body at will. ALL body shots are considered power punches in boxing, so then why did Paulie only land 94 power shots all night? That's 8 per round, and since Paulie didn't touch Broners head with the right hand all night lets assume 7.5 of them were body punches. That is not very impressive. Oh, and before somebody says it, claiming that the compubox statistics are wildly off is generally the last refuge of a man who has absolutely no argument for why his guy lost.
A power punch is any punch other than a jab. I never heard that everything that hits the body is considered a power punch. So a jab to the body, according to your definition is not a jab? Compubox has been proven to be off or unreliable but I cannot say to what degree though.
I was always under the impression that all body shots were considered power punches. Could be wrong. Either way, a jab to the body would count less then a power shot to the body (just like a jab to the head counts less than a power shot to the head) so if thats the case it actually helps my argument.
I really don't know where you are getting your information but there is nothing to support either of your arguments.
isn't that aggression? if you are throwing more punches and even through some are on the arms/elbows it does show aggression if not clean punching.
Not impressed with people who re watch fights in slow-mo. Didn't bother to read the findings. You have to watch at regular speed, just like ringside judges.
"Effective" aggression. Was Paulie controlling the ring? No. Broner was the one cutting the ring off and controlling it. Was Paulie's attack backing Broner off? No. Did Broner even take a single step backward that night? Was Paulie hurting Broner? No. Not even close. Just throwing punches isn't "effective aggression." Please pay attention to the "effective" aspect of the aggression argument. Besides the fact that Paulie was fighting off his back foot.... i.e - Not the aggressor.
You're wrong twice. But I'm tired of arguing. It's like teaching a pig to sing, and you know the old joke .....
Anybody that had paulie winning 7 rounds are ******ed ppl no offense. What did paulie do to win 7 rounds? Paulie while was up in the early rounds, broner pick up the pace and boy he was tagging paulie with hard shots that kept snap paulie's head back a lot of times. I had it 116-112 for broner. Paulie show heart but paulie didn't do enough to win. If this was the amateur fight then paulie would win but not in the pros.
if a fighter punches his opponent's arms in order to take the sting out of his shots and hamper his guard, could this be interpreted as effective aggression? genuine, open question.
