And as a burns fan I'm honest enough to admit that I think broner would of won due to his variety and undoubted skills but Ricky could of caused problems because of his footwork,jab and stamina 3 departments where burns outdoes broner
Anyway I think it's gone,if you still want to revisit that up to you

 

I asked as I saw Billy talking **** about Broner after the Malignaggi fight.

Broner was widely recognised as the best LW in the world before stepping up 2 weight divisions to win a title whilst Burns scrapped past Gonzalez and has avoided any of the divisions top stars in order to fight Beltran.

Makes Billy look a bit stupid imo.

 

Beltran is one of the best opponents outwith the very top tier of the division. I'd possibly only have the 3 champions and Gamboa ahead of him. It makes sense for loads of reasons but mainly:
A) It markets Ricky to the Americans.
B) Beltran style suits Ricky and after a sub-par performance against Gonzales, a solid, convincing win is needed...dare I borrow Hearn's "momentum" phrase!

Ricky's defenses at SFW were all shocking. Since the step up to lightweight they've been better, not great, but much better. I was glad to see Ricky leave ******, that said, the jury is still out on Hearn. This is his first real choice for Ricky, after the mandatory of Gonzales. The next two after this one will show us how Hearn sees Ricky and how much of a say Billy and Ricky will be getting on things but to jump in now with the "shocking defense" type posts is very premature IMO.

 

Ricky has not stepped up to fight the best since the Martinez fight (8 fights later) regardless of whether Billy thinks he would beat Broner.

The Burns camp don't want to fight Broner and that is the only reason it is gone.
