I think that Leonard wins this fight..but, I think he has to use his legs and defense. Trinidad's left hook can come at anytime and when it does I think that Leonard would feel it.

Leonard needs to move and pop that jab. Trinidad doesn't have the defense or the chin to win this fight. But he has speed and a punchers chance. If he can get Leonard to exchange I think he could stop Leonard but, Leonard is much too savy to stand and trade when it does not benefit him.

I think Leonard will outfox Felix and KO him in 13.

Hearns couldn't stop him, Tito has NO chance.

    Leonard destroys him.

Leonard KO 9. Leonard eats some left hooks, catches tito with
Combos to stop him in 9.

With Leonard's track record. I would pick him over anyone at 147. Even if I thought the other guy was the better boxer.

Leonard would win by KO. If De La Hoya could outbox him then so could Leonard. Only difference is Leonard has better stamina and would also go in for the kill.

Yes,Leonard had the skills and smarts to outbox Trinidad. Also the solid chin to absorb any bombs he catches.

Leonard is a league above Tito, This is as perfect a match up as any for Leonard, He'd destroy Tito by 10 at the very latest.

I don't see top form Trinidad as an easy win for any welterweight. Trinidad as his best was a determined non-stop come forward puncher with good hand speed, great cominations and a killer left hook. He was chinny, but he always got off the deck. He and Leonard looked to fight at the same height.

I think Leonard would have to be on his bicycle the entire fight, and not get caught up in exchanges. Tito hits much harder that Duran at 147, and he was just as fast and just as determined and I might make him about Duran's near equal in greatness at welterweight. Duran had the Leonard and Palomino wins and a few others but, Trinidad had 16 defenses and solid contenders from 1993 to 1999.

I like Sugar Ray in this one , all kidding aside
This is a perfect example of what I mean. We might agree that Robinson is the better welterweight? I like Leonard to win a very tough fight. It's not that I think Leonard is better than Robinson. It's that his record shows that that for all his own skills. He might be the biggest over acheiver in boxing. I can't think of anyone else who fought the likes of Duran, Bentiez, Hearns and Hagler, and do as well as he had. On the other hand Robinson for all his talent seemed to at times find a way to lose fights he had no busness losing.
Talent, skills and ability means a lot, but not everything.

At 147, Robby was never defeated. SRL was soundly beaten in Montreal by a smaller and older former LW [dropping nine of the first ten rounds], and hopelessly behind on the cards at the conclusion of Hearns I.

Robinson closely resembles a WW Hearns in the Angott footage. He wouldn't fade late like Tommy, had a better chin than Hearns, and vastly superior survival skills if in trouble. SRL is not going to rally late from an insurmountable deficit to produce a fight saving late stoppage, and Robby would outmaneuver him like Hearns did when necessary.

Leonard is too talented and can do too many things...and he just had that mental toughness that could carry him through.

I stated in an earlier commit on this thred that I would take Leonard over anyone. Even if I thought they were like Robinson better than him. The commit you responded to was a response to that statement.
