Whitaker vs Chavez was like Mayweather vs JMM

Both at 147, both at a catch weight

Whitaker came in 145, Chavez 142
Mayweather came in 146, JMM 142

Mayweather schooled JMM worse than Whitaker schooled Chavez.

 

Trinidad didn't just have power in his left , he had frightning power in both hands . He can put PBF to sleep with his left or right. Trinidad wins this fight with agression, combination punching , and his size . Floyd is NOT a natural WW , Trinidad will painfully bring this to his attention .

 

I would rank them both top 10.

 

Whitaker looks better and fought better fighters to prove it (Mayweather is kinda ****ed there, not his fault better fighters haven't emerged)

At 135-140 Whitaker has him beat. 147 I'd pick Floyd.

 

Good point, but one thing you missed out is Chavez is MUCH better than JMM.

 

Whitaker toyed with all time greats. It's not a slight on Floyd, Whitaker was just that amazing.

 

I think it's neck and neck, but I rate both in the top 25 ever.

 

Floyd makes it look so easy that all of his opponents seem overrated/overmatched. Floyd still goes undefeated with Whitaker's resume including a prime oscar and tito.
