Most of you are only kids and don't even remember this fight, but I thought it was a fight that Whitaker clearly won and the scorecard was simply bizarre ???? For those who remember who do you think won ????

Pea showed he was the better fighter that night, but his punch output denied him his otherwise deserved victory. I remember watching it live and thinking damn Pea just didn't quite do enough and I knew the judges would award ODLH the victory.

Other than the Trinidad loss Pea could easily have been undefeated as the case can be made for him winning the rest. He was better than ODLH by a wide margin and in his best days was at least FMJ's equal. Not to mention he did it with more style than ODLH or FMJ.

Easy fight to score for Delahoya. Whitaker did great though. Both ATGs

Whitaker won the fight with a jab. He was the champ and dlh did nothing to take the belt. Another out w the old in w the new star.

Think Whitaker blew it more than Oscar won it , Whitaker was clowning constantly but not really being active enough , whereas de la hoya was busy and the aggressor , being the young up and coming star prob helped tip it further in his favor as well.

Whitaker's last showing where he looked like a p4p level guy and had some highlight reel defense moments but he still let it get away from him. Close but clear for Oscar to me.

I had Pea (inexplicably) giving away the last round, making it a draw.

Even at that stage of his career, Whitaker gave some glimpses of the greatness he once possessed.
