Smith bounces side to side, poking the jab out from a below-the-chin guard, knuckle pads cupped together with thumbs forming the outer wings under his ears. 1-2 by Dodson, falling short as Smith navigates off the ropes. Smith is slipping Dodson's jabs and pinpointing with his own. Smith is scoring on the back foot, covering up as Dodson tries marching him down. Flush 1-2-3 by Smith, rattling Dodson. Dodson walks into a stiff jab by Smith. Flurry hacking down by Dodson, all blocked as they clinch before the bell.

Round 6

Dodson is hurt!! Right hand up top by Smith, with surprising power behind it. Smith has been saving it up, lulling Dodson with shots at 70-80% for the last while. Dodson is badly stunned. Smith moves in with hooks and short chops. Dodson digs down deep and bravely flurries while tanking in. Big pair of underhand slices to the belly by Smith. Jab into the bloodied nose by Smith. Dodson is mouth breathing but still pressing the action. Overhand rights by Dodson missing from outside. Smith bounces away, left, right, back again, popping the jab. Dodson tries cornering him on the ropes. HUGE OVERHAND RIGHT BY SMITH. Dodson is for a brief moment unconscious on his feet, slumping over but catching himself before falling. Dodson splays his legs out, desperate to restore his balance while stumbling uncontrollably. Richie Davies has seen enough and sagely waves it off.
