Trinidad was tall rangy and dangerous. He could crack with both hands. Tito had good hand speed. Problem is Ray Leonard had blazing hands and quick footwork. He had a high ring IQ and knew what it took to win. I could see Trinidad hurting Leonard a couple of times but overall Ray was just too fast and he would stop Trinidad around the 7th or 8th round.
Leonard would have destroyed Tito, De La Hoya, Pipino Cuevas and would have beaten Carlos Palomino by a wide decision.
Tito was a monster at 147 but Oscar showed he could be troubled by speed and boxers .. I like Ray but it is a dangerous fight ..
I'm a bigger fan of Tito than Ray, but Leonard ****s him up without too many scary moments. Too fast and smart to get caught up in what Tito did best, and even then, Leonard probably wins that game. Tito would be lucky to make it past 10 or 12.
Leonard by late round KO... around round 9 or 10. Leonard was way too good for Trinidad. There is not one thing Trinidad did better except his left hook might have been harder... I didn't say better though. Leonard was very durable, Trinidad's power wouldn't be a big factor. Leonard's power could hurt Trinidad badly though.
Even when I disagree with you you still make sense. I think a strong case could be made that Leonard won in Montreal fighting Duran on his terms. Below is an old post I made a few years back. JLP 6 MONTREAL SCORECARD This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected
