GGG is my boy but he hasn't beaten one of the top 5 MWs yet. Talentwise he IS one of the best P4P though, no doubt.
Maybe, just maybe, GGG isn't hype, and he was hurting Macklin consistently, forcing him to back up. Shocking....
i never said that GGG was hype. i picked him to win by stoppage. just saying how pathetic Macklin was. and no, it wasn't GGG that pushed him on the back foot, that was Macks doing.
He isn't a Euro... just so you know. edit... i see this came up before. I think he takes Froch at this point. His footwork is superb, always in line for a power shot, and his speed and balance, combined with aggressive attitude would spell a nightmare for Froch. Ward would be a great fight... especially at 15 rounds.
Wladimir Klitschko is on a 18 fight win streak stretching 9 years ago back in 2004, Holds the WBA/IBF/WBO belts and holds wins over multiple champions and former champions with a record of 60 wins and 3 losses with 51 knockouts and there is no one besides his own brother who looks like they could possibly beat him at this current time, his only real flaw is his chin but has adapted his style along with his height and reach advantage to counter Guillermo Rigondeax on the other hand made me a big fan even before he won the WBA belt but worried me slightly in the Marroquin fight where he also showed to have shaky whiskers however came in and dominated top rated p4p Nonito Donaire. Whilst I believe in time he will be rated higher he is still only 12 fights into the pro ranks and until he moves up in weight and wins a second belt or beats anyone else of note he can only be ranked so high. Impressive but not enough to be rated against someone like Lucas Mathysse (should be the IBF champion and undefeated) who has faced names like Judah, Alexander and Peterson and shows incredible punching power As for the Froch ranking, well he took out IBF Champion Bute and beat WBA champion Kessler after his loss to Andre Ward and previously holds wins over Johnson, Abraham, Dirrell, Taylor and Pascal with the only tune up fight being Yusaf Mack which was recently. I think he has done enough to earn a top Pound for pound ranking despite fighting sloppy at times so mix his credentials in with the fact he can punch and has recently become more aggressive in fights which has seem to work to his advantage then he is deserving of being that high. Of course in my eyes he would drop slightly should he fight Kessler for a 3rd time and if he fought Ward again and lost or even if he fought someone unheralded. he can only maintain that rank (or go higher) should he fight WBC Champion Sakio Bika or Robert Stielglitz (WBO) next. Froch's ranking has nothing to do with me being British, if anything im Welsh and never liked Froch throughout the start of his career and im more of a Mikkel Kessler fan than anything but Froch has done enough to earn my respect regardless of where hes from
Shut up you fool, macklin absoluely came at GGG right at the bell. felt the power and pressure and said nah-ah. But, you........probably a guy a fit female could knock out is gonna tell mack he shoulda done something different? How would you like your crow cooked sir?
Same thing happened to Rosado, he didn't look like he had a strategy even though I know he did. GGG seems to have the kind of power that mentally paralyzes you, you wanna react and do something but your body doesn't respond, survival instinct kicks in and you just freeze up.
Wlad could beat 100 in a row but it's who you beat that counts on a p4p list. Froch isn't on there. Kessler is shot and still barely lost. i'll put carl in the top 20 but not 10 dude. No way.
It doesn't hold much merit in my opinion of P4P. All up to the beholder, no doubt. There are plenty, even only factoring in H2H: Mayweather, JMM, Wladimir K, Uchiyama, Roman G, Ward, Rigondeaux, Kovalev, Mikey G, Matthysse 10 easily...
I rank both roughly around the same probably, but if one was trying to make arguments for either being in the top 20 P4P I think Broner would be the easier to argue on the nature of his weight jumping, and since Broner has face two to three TIMES as many top 10 ranked opponents. Broner IS ahead of Golovkin, P4P, my man. Golovkin has talent, but his top victories are horribly weak for the way people view him.
I give Sergio Martinez the benefit of the doubt despite looking terrible against Martin Murray. I think his speed and awkwardness would create a lot of problems for Golovkin who although handled Macklin with ease the questions are raised whether it was the same Macklin from the Martinez fight or whether the beating he took from Martinez still held its toll along with only fighting one round since that fight. Not taking anything away from Golovkin, I picked him to win in 6-8 rounds and he amazed me but id still like to see him in against more higher opposition before i jump completely on the band wagon. Despite stopping Proksa (who imitates Martinez to a degree) he was getting hit with Proksas shots, whether that was because he didnt respect Proksas power or if it was down to the southpaw stance is still questionable but I think Martinez could dart in and out and pot shot Golovkin and put combinations into win a decision or possibly mark up Golovkin seeing as Martinez would be the biggest puncher he has ever faced although seeing Martinez get old and how he has a history of hitting the canvas Golovkin is looking the stronger fighter but I cant judge that well until we see Golovkin and Martinez back in action Here is what I would like to see personally Gennady Golovkin Vs Martin Murray Sergio Martinez Vs Marco Antonio Rubio Its also easy to make considering both these guys hold the Mandatories for the WBA and WBC titles and would be a good guage for how good Golovkin is and how much Martinez has left
