Billy, Sky were clearly trying to build this last night.. in fact it even came across from the way there speaking that a deal had already been struck for the winner to fight Ricky Ricky rightly said, he isn't looking past Beltran however feels he would be too much for Crolla which would be the genuine opinion of 99.9% of people. So if Ricky does beat Beltran, why make this fight?! It will literally do nothing whatsoever for Burns resume or legacy as a fighter. I like Crolla, he comes across as a good kid & he would jump at the chance to live his dream & fight for a world title - but from Ricky's point of view, what is the point? I rate Ricky highly & want to see him in some career defining fights as a world title holder - surely this fight can't be in the works once Beltran is out the way... ?!?!
I said this last night and its just my theory but I honestly think Crolla was given these opportunities as a concession to Gallagher for advising Quigg to go with Matchroom.
We have Beltran to take care of first but I wouldnt want Ricky to fight Anthony because IMO and it is only mine I don't think it does a thing for Ricky's career, at least Beltran is ranked in top ten by everyone and is well respected in the States. As Ricky said he have far to much for Anthony who's a very good fighter but not worthy of a title shot just yet.
It's about time Burn's fought a proper champion. Ridiculous how he is taking the **** out of his fans.
Ricky doesn't take the **** out of anyone mate, asked the question do you want Vasquez or abril for a unification and ring belt or Anthony what do you think the answer would be?
Fair play for being honest about the appeal of a fight against Crolla. No disrespect to Crolla but Burns (and his management in the shape of Hearn Jr) should be setting their sights much higher. Billy - do you have much input as to whom Burns actually fights or is your job to train him for the next opponent?
Billy, will you (team Burns) reject Sky & Eddie when they propose the Crolla fight? It's apparent Eddie would make the fight if given the right signals.
