I always respected the hell out of Clinton Woods.. What a tough *******.. He ate some serious shots from Roy, but refused to quit..

I think a fight between him and Calzaghe would have been entertaining for sure, I think Woods' toughness would have kept him in it for a while in an action packed fight, though no one in their right mind would have picked Woods to win it. Calzaghe is clearly a superior fighter. I do think I remember Calzaghe calling Woods out at one point.

There's a huge difference in circumstances though, between the above opponents, and the majority of Joe's opponents.

They were keep busy fights for James.

These fights were all fought within the space of just 16 months.

Now tell me how many world class 25/26 year old fighters, have had TEN fights in just 16 months??

Also, Tim Littles was a very good fighter who'd beaten Frankie Liles just 2 years earlier. James knocked him out in just 4 rounds, and it was less than two months before his previous fight.

Let's not forget, that at that stage of his career, he'd already beaten McCallum, Nunn, Reggie Johnson, De Witt, Barkley and would then go on to fight a 25 year old peak Roy Jones. I love how you've left Roy's name off of the list. James fought a peak Roy Jones, someone who Joe wanted NO part of, until he was 40, and he'd overcome his fear of flying.

    James's resume annihilates Joke Calzaghe's.

His wins over McCallum, Reggie Johnson and Michael Nunn, in his early 20's, eclipses anything that Joe did. :good

whats that got to do with anything. he's 168 champion of the world and his list of opponents was an absolute ****ing disgrace, esb would be in absolute uproar tomoro if andre ward took that path in the next 18 months :lol::rofl

    - govoner chavers 9-3-1

    - ricky thomas 11-9-1

    - glen thomas 24-1-0

    - danny garcia 25-9-0

    - larry prather 10-10-0

    - tony thornton 35-5-1

    - anthony hembrick 27-4-1

    - tim littles 24-0-0

    - vinson durham 11-6-1

    - charles williams 36-5-2

he won a majority decision which was fortunate imo at 160 v a 35 year old mccallum.

I've acknowledged a good win v nunn after being way behind for 11 rounds

    de witt, no big deal

barkley already been destroyed in 1 round by benn and lost to shot former lightweight duran

Johnson - squeaked a split decision

seems you forget to mention peak toney getting a gift v journeyman tiberi, squeaking a life and death sd v the average sosa, and drawing v sanderline Williams  - why is that? - oh yeah, I remember its because jones had a win v toney and its one of the key things that holds jones resume together and you are a fanboy who answers every single question on esb with your roy jones tinted spectacles on :deal

why don't you talk about Toney being a proven steroid riddled disgrace? Why don't you talk about PED's and proven cheats much on esb? Are you one of those steroid apologists?

only in the mind of a roy jones fanboy. Toney had 12 fights at 168 and his resume is basically an absolute ****ing disgrace. The rest of his career after that is totally wiped out by steroids. None the less, could you imagine calzaghe drawing with sanderline Williams, being outfought by dave tiberi, squeaking a split decision v sosa, losing twice to griffin, losing to thadzi, repeatedly taking steroids - OH YEAH JONES BEAT TONEY SO NONE OF THIS MATTERS IN YOUR WORLD

You gotta respect Hopkins, it would be interesting if he took the test but his credentials from winky wright onwards are outstanding :deal

True about Jones and Toney, 2 steroid riddled disgraces, who couldn't look after their money and can barely string a sentence together, still fighting for peanuts well into their 40s :-:)dead:oops::patsch

Aint it funny Slappy Calzaghe says he doesn't do re matches when challenged for one by Bernard Hopkins. Slappy had just been awarded a gift decision he kinew he did not really deserve the win. But old Slappy Joe had no problem rematching Mario Veit who he'd KO;d in first round first time around. Old Cowardly Calzaghe retired & ran for the hills to save his beloved 0

After barely a couple of 168 title fights for Calzaghe, steroid riddled Toney was already fighting at cruiserweight. What an absolutely ridiculous suggestion, please find another thread to troll in with your embarrassing fanboy comments :nut:huh:blood:-:)roll::patsch

Oh dear, resident troll and tranny deepthroater CJ is in the house :rofl:patsch

Veit worked his way to mandatory contender and forced a rematch :good

Hopkins lost on home soil, in Calzaghe's 1st fight at 175 despite corrupt refereeing from Cortez. Racist Hopkins held all night and literally got butt****ed in the centre of the by Calzaghe during the best run of victories in Hopkins entire career :hi:

Why would Calzaghe make his last fight against somebody he had already beaten on foreign turf, who spent the entire fight spoiling and making the fight disjointed. Calzaghe was all about entertaining the fans, where as Hopkins didn't care about giving his fans value for money, hence the Calzaghe fight, the cringeworthy 2nd Jones fight, and him faking injury against both Robert Allen and Chad Dawson to get fights halted midway through with his pathetic fake crybaby face :|:lol:
