I think Thurman is developing nicely. There is no need to rush him against anyone. He has taking some tough opponents like Zavek, Qunitana, and Lora. Each opponent has shown him something different and he continues to pass the test. Another 1-2 fights and he should be fighting for a title in 2014.

For what it's worth, he fights for the interim WBA title later this month.

I saw that. Haven't seen Diego Chaves fight yet, so I can't say if he's the next in the line of big Argentinian punchers or not, although he looks the part on paper. I wonder if anyone here's scouted him. If he's got the goods, Thurman-Chaves could be a great fight that's just flying way under the radar.

No. Stop overrating him. He's a decent fighter. He hits very hard and has a whopping right hand. Zaveck didn't look to be at his best yet he pushed him for twelve. Before calling him the next star I need to see him do quite a few things.

    1. Get tested against a guy who can match his power My first suggestion would be a guy like Andre Berto or Victor Ortiz
    2. A guy who can match his boxing and hand speed. Options for this would include a grudge match with Paulie Malignaggi or perhaps a challenge at IBF beltholder Devon Alexander

Quite honestly I don't know if he can beat any of those four fighters. He must give it a shot, though.

Thurman would have ko'ed maidana and malignaggi if they didn't blatantly duck him. It's ok, because after thurman keeps brutalizing all these ranked contenders for championships soon or later a champion will grow a set and fight him.

Too early to say that espcilly with Marquez still active. I think he can beat any welterweight out there, but intell he dose. I'm not read do proclaim him anything other than a boxer with a lot of potiontal. He's a good boxer and has a great punch.

I won't say he is overrated since I like what I see so far and let's not forget he's only 24 so he got a long way to go. The top ten welterweights according to Ring has a lot of good WW in that division so in order for him to prove to the people and to himself he's ready for next stage is to fight a WW in the top ten like Maidana, Brook, Robert Guerrero, or take on Victor Ortiz. We don't know how far he would go but I think Keith Thurman is on the right path though.

i think that Thurman is going to prove himself an ATG just like EVERY fighter that comes from America.

i mean, it's not like they hype and overrate the **** out of their guys only for them to get embarrassed by a half decent fighter is it?

yep, genuine ATG along with the likes of...

    Lacy
    Pavlik
    Dawson
    Taylor
    Broner
    Grant
    Arreola
    Dirrell
    Tarver
    williams
    Jones
    Alexander
    Peterson
    Trout

and so on and so on...

canelo cannot beat mayweather.his style is made to order for floyd.the hype will be more entertaining than the fight.we know canelo will bring it to floyd forcing him to set down on his punches like never before and thats why i'm picking floyd to stop him late in the fight.

thurmans style would give floyd all kinds of trouble.

For some reason I feel that Thurman is KO waiting to happen. Then again I was thinking the same for Alvarez.

Floyd ain't KOing Alvarez. He will be to worried about his power to go for the KO.
