Sergio from a couple years ago would stop GGG on cuts probably, but he's past it now. His age and knee injury is catastrophic for his type of style

I don't think even the best Sergio would last the full distance with Golovkin...

Id love Martinez to recuperate from his injuries and come back close to his prime... Personally this would be the biggest fight in boxing I'd love for it to be competitive but sergio seriously struggled in his last fight
Still think his movement and speed could giv GGG problems but Martinez can be suckered into a brawl and with golovkin that wouldn't be too wise

no surprise here. Sergio has a huge heart and isnt going to back away from any fight. that said he's breaking down physically. again, no surprise here considering his age. "fully recovered" is a bit misleading as well. i don't see him coming back the way he once was. those injuries are tough to heal up from at that age and given his style of fighting...

the sergio of a few years ago won't be fighting if this comes off. given his recent performances i see GGG showing him the door.

Martinez ducking GGG . I highly doubt that . This is a guy that fought Paul Williams 2x and Pavlik in a row . This is Martinez were talkin About people , not mayweather . Lets not let their same first initial confuse us

    Who has Golovkin beat?

I'd make Martinez a sound favorite to do to him what he did to Chavez Jr.

Martinez will not step in the ring with Golovkin if his leg injury is'nt 100%.

im sure that Sergio knows that he really doesn't have much time left so a tune-up fight will probably do him no good. if hes going to fight ggg he has to do it now.

ggg will probably fight one more time before the years up, build up more fans and then a mega-fight sometime in the spring of next year.

I believe this fights going to get made as Sergio and his machismo has no other big fight paydays other than Floyd.

I believe that ggg would open as a -250 to 300, if not higher.

anyone that believes that Sergio would open as a favorite, let alone a "sound favorite," doesn't know too much about boxing odds.

fwiw, tito was a 3-1 favorite over the 36-year-old Hopkins who was on a 17-fight win streak all by (t)ko/UD.

its safe to assume that the 39-year-old martinez, coming off multiple surgeries and three consecutive fights in which he suffered knockdowns, would not have similar value as Hopkins did against tito.

but that's just my opinion...someone that clearly understands boxing and how to determine a good line from a bad line.
