Personally to much **** gets chatted about coaches when a someone loses everyone jumps on "he needs to leave and go with another coach"
A coach can only take a fighter so far, the rest is down to the fighter.
All coaches have different techniques/training regimes but a trainer is there to get him in tip top condition and try and come up with a solid game plan BUT if his fighter is boxing against a better opponent 9/10 he loses despite best efforts of both.
Amir khan is a perfect example - gets ko'd by Prescott leaves and joins Roach who was at the time the best coach in the world??- mainly due to the fact he had the best fighter in pacman, then after a number of years with Roach and still producing the same flaws Khan then leaves Roach to the newest best coach in the work?? in Virgil Hunter- due to the fact he coaches andre ward - arguably the best p4p fighter in the world.
At the end of the day a boxer has only so much ability and you can't tell me if any of the 3 coaches in billy nelson , arnie and joe Gallagher were to coach the top fighters such as Ward,Mayweather,K2, GGG etc they wouldn't be successful. Of course they would

Yes I wanted Gavin to win but at the end of the day it don't affect me one bit, Ricky Burns is that's why he's the World Champion and has been for 3 years while you have been watching English title fights and failed British and Commonwealth title fights against Derry, what's your beef with Derry anyway is it the fact you couldn't beat him?

We did beat Derry......2nd time round and he got a gift of a stoppage 1st fight......you know this Billy, just coz Derry is hanging out the back of you now doesn't mean you need to defend him

Macky You have to give Billy and Arnie credit for coming on here to give their opinions and views etc Joe G doesn't and both will know that sometimes they fancy a fighter to win and he doesn't they base their opinion on records and performance from their latest fights they don't know how a training camp goes in other camps and i'm sure both will tell us things happen in camp that the public will never know like small injuries that hamper training example Rose hurt his back in training and didn't box to his best but dug in and won or maybe your Joe G :bbb:bbb

I dont need to defend anyone let alone Derry Mathews who i hardly now, ive seen both him and Tommy box and got to say Derrys chin is much firmer and that could be decisive although it will be a very good fight, if Derry wins what about the two titles up for grabs or is Anthony above that i think Anthony doesnt want anything more to doo with Derry coz he found him so much tougher than he maybe first thought
