that was a welterweight fight. he weighed in at 146.5 lb. so if he really was 150 on fight night, he rehydrated a few pounds. and your saying he was below 150 against Cotto, a LMW fight. He looked bigger against Cotto and more slow and sluggish so I'm not sure that is accurate.

The question I have is are these unofficial FMJ fight night weights available? Are you just looking at him during the fight and saying "well he looks about 150"?

the fact that people were even talking about a rehydration limit for Canelo, or a catchweight penalty, or anything along these lines for a 154 unification fight is absurd. FMJ is supposed to be the best boxer in the world, just fight the guy at the division limit. rehydrate to whatever you want and let your opponent rehydrate to whatever he wants.

By the way, you realize that Trout was listed at 171 lbs for the Canelo fight?

ok but not for Cotto right? there was no unofficial weight listed for Cotto. why wasn't there? we don't seem to know what FMJ rehydrated to, but if he rehydrated 4 lbs for Ortiz, then it's possible he might have rehydrated 4 or 5 lbs for Cotto. From 150 that'd be like 154 or 155. The reason why Canelo weighed 172 was because Trout was so big. Trout rehydrated to 171.

Canelo might not even rehydrate that high if he's fighting a smaller guy at Light Middleweight like FMJ. But that's his choice, just like it's Floyd's choice to weigh and rehydrate to whatever he likes. And there's positives and negatives to doing so. You could lose speed or stamina if you rehydrate too much. It really depends on the fighter. That's why there's weight limits. All you gotta do is make the weight and the belts will be on the line. Basically, what this says is that FMJ is not really a Light Middleweight, and that was one of the things that made him great, that he could go up to Light Middle and still be the best. It's hard to do for a small guy, and FMJ should be given credit when he does it, but here he's showing that he's not really a Light Middleweight, which is too bad because he's won two legitimate Light Middleweight titles and really was recognized as a champion at that weight.

so why do you think floyd would weigh any higher than 150 for this fight? It does him zero favours.

Catchweights are for people looking for an advantage

For the p4p #1 to ask for this, against a young green fighter, at a weight he has fought at on a number of ocassions?

Thats weak as hell. Im not going to scream and shout about FLoyd being a *****, because he isnt, but hes supposed to be the Alpha Dog in this equation.

Probably because as someone who keeps himself in top shape, he would have very little water weight fluctuations. His body is solid, so he cant re-hydrate. Like Froch.

In reality we are talking about a few pounds difference at the weigh-in. Possibly even less then the difference between FMJ Cotto or FMJ DLH lmao.

Canelo is not that much bigger then FMJ, if at all. Did you see the face offs? The two look like they match up very well size-wise. Yet all we hear about how Canelo is like 20 or 25 lbs bigger. like it's so unfair to FMJ lmao.

What was the weight difference on fight night between DLH and FMJ? between Cotto and FMJ?
