    Corbett lost last 2 in 2012 and has not won since 2010 Prizefighter.

    If the title means anything it should be Cornish, Dorian Darch or even Martin Rogan.

    I wonder watch Hughie's record will read by 31.12.13?

    Actually I don't mind that in the first 12 months of a fighter's apprenticeship - shame Mitchell Smith & Buglioni did not go overseas at the start for some record padding

    He's only been pro a few months, Corbett isn't a bad fight.

    Yes, but is it worthy of a title?

    Should be an 8 or a 10 round non title bout

    No maybe its not worthy of a bout but its a celtic title something to start and get the rounds in.Just like people fighting for area titles. I could imagine it will be the irish and the british/English after.

    Good step up in my opinion.

    True, but who has fought for the celtic title in the past? Just like boxzone said its equivalent to an area title.

    thought it was the equivalent of the English belt. 1 step above area, and 1 step below British

    I thought it was a step below English, Irish etc. Does the belt have much history? Trying to find people who have held it.

    According to Boxrec nobody has held it at heavyweight but at cruiserweight Stephen Simmons won it in his 8th fight. It will be Hughie Fury's 7th fight so seems about right.

    He beat Michael Sweeney who by coincidence beat Corbett in his previous fight

    Dont see the problem really with Hughie fighting Darren, guys been a pro a matter of months and an 18 year old heavyweight at that, he has a long long time to grow and develop as a fighter, a good fight really Corbett isnt that bad a fighter and for such a young novice like Fury its a good fight, should it be for the celtic title no not in my view but then again that title mean Fu*k all really
