People are so desperate to see Floyd lose they’re happy to watch 2 guys fight with a 20lb weight differential?

The catchweight was necessary because Canelo is massive at the weight.

When Floyd breezes past Canelo, how long before people start claiming Floyd is ducking GGG??

    It’s a joke really.

You're so hell bent on proving me wrong, that you're missing the point entirely. I don't think it'll really be 20 lbs, i think it'll be more like 5-10 lbs in reality. You might think it'll be 15-20 lbs, I might think it'll be 5-10 lbs, it might end up being in the middle at 10-15 lbs. The reality is we don't know. That could depend on whether FMJ really doesn't rehydrate at all, or whether he rehydrates to 155 or something. But, regardless, the important point is that it's probably going to be pretty much the same as it was for DLH or Cotto.

So to make it seem like Canelo is significantly bigger then DLH or Cotto is preposterous. You don't even need a scale. Just look at the face off. Trout is much more physically imposing then either Canelo or FMJ.

Simple really, either watch the fight and enjoy or don't watch at all. Bitching and crying won't change anything. I'm not a fan of catchweights myself but this isn't the first time it happens.

By 1 lb?? LMAO. I'm grasping at straws? really?? At least you admit that the weight difference between DLH, Cotto, and Canelo vs FMJ is pretty much the same. the reality is we don't know exactly what the weight difference will be, we don't even know if Floyd will get on the unofficial scales. Bottom line, FMJ is insecure and trying to gain an advantage on Canelo, after saying last year how meaningless catch weights are and how Pac - Cotto didn't count because it was at a catchweight. :good

Canelo and Trout were both apparantly over 170 lbs. which is significantly higher then Mayweather was at LMW. Yet all we hear about is how big Canelo is. Canelo was 1 lb heavier then Trout on fight night, congratulations on your moral victory, and you're complete lack of focus when it comes to the significance of what we are actually talking about.

He obviously is a joke poster with a quite frankly ridiculous agenda, but at least he isn't alone. Believe it or not there are fools out their who expect others to believe that Mayweather went to all the trouble of boiling down to less than 154 in his previous L/ Middle fights only to enter the ring at 162 - 165.

I would wager if Mayweather was fully dressed and dived into a swimming pool, got out and immediately jumped onto a set of scales, he couldn't weigh 160+.

I have an "agenda"? an agenda of calling out the P4P CATCH Weight King of All-Time? My "agenda" of holding Mayweather to his own words?

I am simply pointing out that we don't know what Mayweather rehydrates to because when he fought Cotto, the unofficial weights weren't listed. It could be 150, 155, or even 160. We simply don't know. Do you consider FMJ a legitimate Light Middleweight Champ? I did, and that to me is why I was so surprised at the catchweight.

Do you know ANY fights where Mayweather's rehydrated weight was listed?

    If so, what was it?

Team Alvarez offered the catchweight. They were not FORCED into it like other teams liked to.:deal

Team Alvarez did not offer the catchweight. Quite to the contrary. Check out the May 8th boxing scene article. at that time they made it clear that they wouldn't even consider a catchweight. However, Team Mayweather would not agree to the fight unless there was a catchweight.

They were in fact forced into it! (Floyd wouldn't fight Canelo unless they agreed to it) Read up on the recent interview with Canelo's trainer. Canelo himself has confirmed this. Ask yourself, why in the world would Canelo's side agree to penalize themselves if they come in 153 or 154? Floyd Mayweather wanted the catchweight.

By the way, I'd like to know also which if any fights of Mayweather's had his unofficial weight listed. Someone mentioned that it was listed vs Victor Ortiz. It certainly wasn't listed for Cotto or many of his others. And you have to ask yourself "why"? why are other fighters listing their unofficial fight night weights but FMJ isn't?
