Many cubans on the way up. Some may win a belt Erislandy Lara 154 Luis Franco 126 Yunier Dorticos 200 Yuniesky Gonzalez 175 Yoandris Salinas 122 Luis Ortiz heavy Mike Perez heavy Ranches Barthelemy 130 Yordanis Ugas 147 Inocente Fiz 154 Umberto Savigne 175 Yudel Jhonson 154 Angelo Santana 135 Alexei Collado 122 Odlanier Solis havy Pedro Rodriguez 200 Yasmani Consuegra heavy Glendy Hernandez heavy
wining I don't know? But fighting for a belt Franco, Salinas and Barthelemy, Lara should had fought for a belt long time ago I think De Cubas is getting money under the table and Lara doesn't know...
As long as he's not facing Canelo, Floyd, or Molina, Lara is still the best from that group of Cubanos. He's got talent and now with some experience. A rematch with Molina who should take care of Smith would be highly anticipated.
Salinas fighting Quigg for Rigos 122 WBA title soon Franco dropped out of a worldtitle fight against Dib for Money reasons. Yuniesky Gonzales now light heavy may be a serious candidate. He lost the cuban heavyweight final by two Points in his first year in the cuban elite. Now light Heavy in Miami. Yunier Dortico a real good puncher in cruiser These are my guesses for a title belt. And Lara of course !!!!!
Actually, Floyd has the regular WBA Jr. Middleweight belt while Canelo has the Super WBA belt that he just took from his fight with Austin Trout. Floyd "Money" Mayweather took the regular WBA 154lb title in his May, 2012 victory over Miguel Cotto who won that same exact belt 2-years before with his 10th round tko win over defending champion Yuri Foreman who in essence took the exact same belt from the previous regular belt holder before him Daniel Santos who won and held that same exact regular belt for a couple of years when there was actually NO Super belt of any kind in the Jr.Middleweight division least of all the WBA Super belt ta 154. I could be wrong but if I stand corrected Trout was the first fighter to win the created WBA Super title belt at 154. Also keep in mind that Floyd himself, on the strength of winning the regular WBA Jr.Middleweight belt from Cotto last year, holds something called the WBC Diamond Jr.Middleweight belt which of course is at best an interim status type of belt compared to the regular WBC title that not only Canelo currently holds but basically just guarantees you an eventual shot at the regular title and makes that fighter in particular the mandatory/#1 contender. So in essence Mayweather & Alvarez are basically each others mandatory for their own major alphabetical belts at 154lbs.
Believe it or not but you too, are wrong. Floyd holds what the WBA call their Super title and Canelo holds what they call a "Unified" title. I think they have done the same with the Super Middleweight division and Ward/Froch, they also did it at 126 with John and Gamboa a few years ago. Interestingly their own "Champions" site doesn't reference Lara at all (http://wbanews.com/artman/publish/campionshipChampions/)
****ing WBA. But actually Floyd got the Super belt from Cotto. Trout held the regular one and i would not be surprised if Alvarez holds the unified WBA belt, something that Gamboa had when he had the IBF belt. At that time, when Gamboa was the WBA unified champ there was a Super, regular and an interim champion :rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl Bob ****ing Arum did not let Gamboa take part of the second IBF weigh in(according to Gamboa) and thats why he lost both belts. At that time i think it was Garcia who was in line for the IBF strap and Arum basically wanted to hand that to him. :-(
If I have to rank them based on current potential then my order would be ... Erislandy Lara 154 Yoandris Salinas 122 Odlanier Solis heavy Yudel Jhonson 154 Luis Franco 126 Luis Ortiz heavy Yunier Dorticos 200 Yordanis Ugas 147 Mike Perez heavy Alexei Collado 122 Ranches Barthelemy 130 Yuniesky Gonzalez 175 Inocente Fiz 154 Umberto Savigne 175 Angelo Santana 135 Pedro Rodriguez 200 Yasmani Consuegra heavy Glendy Hernandez heavy even when I consider Glendy and Yasmani as good heavyweights ... (in a good day they could trade and defeat many top ten heavys right now) The Problem with that cohort is that they are not receiving the chances they already merit, based solely on Performance to date ... They should already in this year face top 10 competition, but they are avoided or overseen ... In that group Franco, Ugas, Santana and Jhonson where unexpectedly defeated and Lara didn't capitalize on two good chances he got, to better positionate himself ... the same with Solis when his blew his only chance to date with Vitali ... they cannot let those opportunities go ... there maynot be other opportunities ...
It seems that the second on my list is the front runner: Quigg and Salinas camps reach agreement for WBA title fight By Gabriel F. Cordero The WBA has reported that representativess of WBA interim super bantamweight champion Scott Quigg and the #2 challenger Yoandris Salinas have reached an agreement to fight for the vacant title. The WBA World Championships Committee had called for a purse bid on Monday in Panama City, but that function has been canceled as a result of the agreement between the parties involved. Quigg and Salinas will be fighting for the vacant WBA super bantamweight regular world title formerly held by Guillermo Rigondeaux, who was bumped up to WBA super bantamweight unified world champion status.
That they merit? Neither guy has faced anyone beyond Florida circuit club boxers with losing records or Dominicans for Consuegra. Utter utter bum opposition yet you think they deserve and can beat top 10 HW's.
