weight drained/alcoholic pavlik was boxing martinez's ears off in stretches..prime pavlik that took out taylor and miranda would **** GGG all up.

for the record, he would butt-**** froch as well..and i love froch. but seeing JT do up froch for 11.5 rds affirmed what i already knew.

Not entirely sure who wins this one, but I know it'd be one awesome ****in fight!

In the end, it really comes down to good GGG's chin is. If it can withstand Pav's bombs, I think he busts Pav up for a late stoppage.

Once again this thread premise came up a couple months ago and Pavlik got almost 70%. Now after GGG smashes Macklin he is gettin over 70%.

He beat Ouma but damn GGG got hit a lot. His fight with Ouma exposed his lack of defense. On the brite side GGG's chin and skin held up. But GGG is to easy to hit and when he steps up he will lose. Ward has already noticed GGG is easy to hit. If GGG fights Ward this ggg hype train will be derailed.

Yeah Miranda was really all hype. Miranda had a high KO % but he never stopped or even beat any of the elite fighters he faced. His best win was over a chinny Allen Green who he couldn't even stop (and who dropped him IIRC).

GGG would have ****ed Miranda up bad, the dude did not have a good chin.

I still think Pavlik loses to GGG, I think the type of style to beat Gennady is a Ward/Hopkins style of smother/hold/headbutt (rinse & repeat). I watched the finals in the Olympics and that is basically how the guy who beat GGG for the gold neutralized him. You are not going to beat him being a flat-footed, slow feet, and 1 handed fighter like Pavlid was/is.

Ummm, actually Ouma gave GGG his toughest fight to date and almost did go the distance.

I promise that I'm not trying to nitpick here but I think we can all agree that Eastman and Green were elite when Miranda fought them.

Good post, and everything you said is correct. However, on the flip side, no flat foot come forward fighter ever beat Pavlik either.

Like I said earlier, if GGG has a very good chin, he'd probably stop Pavlik late, because I don't see Pav taking GGG's shots all night.

BUT, GGG would have to go through a lot of firepower. Whether or not he'd be able to do that remains to be seen.
