It´s understandable that they didn´t fight each other, that´s what i said. Still it´s not irrelevant for judging their achievements and ranking of them between other all time greats. Guys like Louis, Ali and Holmes had to fight everyone and they didn´t have someone doing their job for them. However Vitaly avenged two of Wladimirs losses and took away some dangerous challengers from him. That´s a fact that can´t be denied. Although Wladimir never fought a true ATG. Arguably beating a blown up cruiser is his most notable win. Hard to overlook that unless you´re a Klitschko fanatic.

 

I strongly doubt that Wlad would´ve done better without Vitaly. In fact i think he would´ve been rushed into a rematch with Sanders then and with Wlad´s inability to compete in a war, that could´ve been a career ending fight for him. Also Vitaly took some dangerous opponents away from him. And just think about Wlad taking on Lewis. He wouldn´t have Stewart in his corner and even if he would, he would never been considered as a favourite against Lennox except by Klitschko fanatics. As for the Brewster rematch, you do know that Brewster wasn´t the same as in their first match ? He was almost blind and just did that fight for the money.

 

Just because they had lost to big bro didn't prevent them from challenging Wladimir afterwards did it ?

 

The problem is, once Vitaly beat them, they were of no more interest for the Klitschkos. The Klitschkos were often treated as if they were one person. That´s a huge advantage they have over other all time greats, cause it allowed them to pick their opponents best suited for their skills.

 

Weak era my a$$. Do you guys honestly think that a great American HW is going to rise up after the Klitschkos are gone? Look at the Top 20, the game has changed forever.

 

Holmes' era wasn't better.

 

Their opponents have the same advantage. Haye picked Wlad because he believed he was the weaker of both brothers. Arreola was trying to become WBC mandatory (before losing to Stiverne) because he said he wanted a rematch against 'the older brother', saying how he doesn't believe he could be competitive with Wlad.

It works both ways.

 

Brewster had eye problems before the first fight.

Wlad would have won against Sanders with Emanuel Steward in his corner. Wlad learned to protect himself much better. Defence is very important in a Heavyweight fight.

Vitali did not take dangerous opponents away from Wlad. Wlad wants Haye and Haye was the most dangerous fighter in the division for Wlad.

Arreola wants a shot at the WBC so he fought Vitali. It was not Wlad´s choice.

Wlad is and was a real good Champion, he fought his way back to the top after is loss. Learned from his losses and never make the same mistake again.

 

It was written into the contract that Vitali could step in for Wlad at any time if he decided to pull out. Haye agreed. Haye has been trying to get Vitali in the ring but Vit says he has to fight a ligit contender such as David Tua.

 

Brewster suffered the eye injury against Liakhovich , 2 years after he beat Wlad.His team told him not to take the fight but he did it for the money and quit when enough rounds had past. He was a shadow of himself .................Steward only disguised Wlads weakneness and thought him how to hold and lean on opponents....His flaws are still there. He just never fought another Sanders or Brestwer to expose them.

Wlad has been making those same mistakes for the last 2 fights. However, both Wach and Pianeta only managed to capitalize on them maybe 2-3 times each in their fights with him.:think:think

Wlad used to have a tendency to hang around after overshooting the R hand. He has done that a bunch in the past 2 fights.

I don't think Banks is instilling that in his training camps for the purpose of making Wlad a little less cautious and ever so slightly more exciting.:huh:huh
