Things I've noticed today about boxing that aren't worth a thread on their own


Just watched back smith-Dodson sober this time and smith was punching so hard and accurate,he also looked in great shape.i think it's a testament to dodsons preparation that he wasn't knocked out clean


Reading boxing news and read that the British board are considering legal action against kenny Anderson for not returning the Lonsdale belt.quite possibly the funniest story I've heard all year.he was desperate to win it,maybe his poor performance against Reid prompted him to decide he had no chance of getting one outright so despite relinquishing it in October it's July and he hasn't returned it


And a ringside observation,spencer Oliver and Paul smith described gavin Rees as a two time world champion.obviously then the mbaye win and kotelnik and broner loses amount to that.two time challenger for a version of the world title is what you meant eh lads.maybe me being pedantic but surely ringside is recorded and the collective minds there were aware that it was a mistake on their part

And Gary boulden is turning into a quality gatekeeper,always good value and been ripped off a few times it would be nice to see a change in fortunes for somebody like boulden.its a hard life being a boxing pro with no home gigs or substantial promoter

Lastly I'm pleased to see Luke Campbell has a half decent British opponent for his debut in andy harris

 

Yep now I'm rambling

Gary Cornish Paul Butlin this weekend
Is Cornish better than this level,will be interesting to see whether he cuts it

 

Yeah it won't happen but I'd love to see groves v a well prepared Paul smith
Although to be fair he seemed settled in the first round of their fight but groves picked an absolute peach of a shot

 

No ridiculous


So if I had a choice of kugans interviews v boxnations BOXING coverage it's a joke
I sometimes think fans get so immersed in promoter disputes they forget the action in the ring
Anybody who follows through with this threat is a fool
Buncey is being loyal isn't he,that's a good trait in my book

 

It wouldn't be a big loss long term
He could interview Hearn,coldwell,hennessay,fearon as well as trainers and boxers from around the country
It doesn't mean he is giving preferential treatment to Hearn because he is the most prominent promoter available and people would want to see it
