Atlas just spent 10 minutes giving himself a huge pat on the back for confidently picking Golovkin to stop Macklin. (like, what 95% of us?)

    Maybe even more than 95%...

I only saw two or three Brits pick Macklin, and surely if they had a gun to their head they wouldn't have.

I think a few saw him going the distance (rationalizing that his stoppages by Martinez and Moore were both late and owing to fatigue, and the less forgivable loss to Moore was so long ago) but yeah...that was never happening with how Macklin has always fought, against GGG.

He is pretty tough, but Golovkin has made a habit of knocking pretty tough guys out.

    Round 1

DeJesus is throwing jabs and rainbow rights stepping in, and catches Smith with a left hook in an exchange that stands him upright with a jolt. Smith circles in and looks for a body jab but gets hooked in the nose again, startled into backing up. Jerky side to side movements by Smith making his way forward cautiously. Low duck by Smith as
DeJesus loops a right at him. 1-2 up top by DeJesus, ducked. Clinch.

    10-9 DeJesus

    Round 2

DeJesus is putting in shots up and down, staying in Smith's chest. BIG hook puts Smith on his butt a minute in. Smith beats the count and looks to collapse in on DeJesus to smother him. Wild hooks by DeJesus, missing as Smith jumps outside. Long slapping left hook on the hip by Smith, reaching out with his other arm to grab. Big short left hook on the chin by DeJesus. Smith is ducking and grabbing, wrestling, spoiling to survive. Combination by DeJesus, just over Smith's head as he bows in low. Jab by DeJesus is stuffed by an intercepting right hand from Smith. Clinch.

    10-8 DeJesus

    20-17 DeJesus

    Round 3

DeJesus is crouching away from Smith's jab and then moving in with a variety of shots. Jabs to the face, hooks to the body, and uppercuts from DeJesus. Smith jogs away popping jabs and gets his head snapped back from a DeJesus jab. BIG left hook by DeJesus, landing bluntly on the front of Smith's chin as he tucks it against his chest just in time to cushion the blow. Smith whips in a long hook from outside, caught on DeJesus' arm. He winds up another and lands it but doesn't affect DeJesus.

    10-9 DeJesus

    30-26 DeJesus
