Why did he spend half the fight bouncing around the ring? No wonder he was knackered after about 3 rounds. Bizarre tactics.

if Price wants to save his carrer he needs to sign with Fast car and get trained by one person not by Lennox and Franny Smith pick one or get a new trainer. Peter Fury anybody?

Quitting? He couldn't even hold his hands up to defend himself. He still didn't take a knee. So what if he slightly turned as Tony Thompson was unloading everything on his head! How you can watch the third round and think Price hasn't got guts is beyond me.

Poor old Pricey, not sure where he goes from here. Surely this put Thompson at the back of the (pretty mediocre) heavyweight pile

Price has got guts. But he's also got so many flaws and was held back far too long that he'll never become world class.

He looked like a complete novice in there.Mentally he was in way over his head,he showed no belief whatsoever and when the going got tough he just didn't want to tough it out.
He looks worse than in his first few fights he's totally regressed,no jab, his punch accuracy was shocking. His shots landed round the back of Thomson's head or on his chest, although I think mainly because he was over worrying about what was coming back.
What was going up on his toes dancing about and going on the back foot all about? A 6'8" massive guy should be taking the centre of the ring sticking a huge jab in his opponents face all night keeping him on the back foot.
He reminded me of a bad version of Joe Bugner without the chin and the stamina.

I just watched the Wlad - Brewster I fight (when Wlad was 28 ) and the exact same things that are being said about Price were being said about him in that bout. Retrospectively Wlad managed to turn it all around - will Price be able to do the same?

Looking back the whole episode does look a bit farcical. Imagine if after getting sparked by Prescott, instead of going to the US with Roach, Khan stayed with Rubio and decided to go for an immediate rematch, only this time with Naz or someone in his corner.

Price can rebuild, but he needs to show the kind of self-belief he hasn't to date. I'm always really reluctant to call any fighter a quitter, but he definitely looked overwhelmed by the reality of top-level boxing when he was receiving that standing count in the corner.

You don't have to be the next Lewis to have a solid career, and he'll always have a genuine punchers chance whoever he faces. Even if all he does is knock out domestic/European fighters for the next 10 years, it beats being a plumber.

I agree, Price could still be a good fighter at British and European level, one thing that is apparent is that Fury would have hammered him at will, a much superior fighter who is at world level and if beaten by Haye can be at world level again.

I love it how ****s like your hype a fighter to the point he's God and then run him into ground when he looses dismissing the quality of the opponent throughout.

    It's a ****ing joke.

I always knew it was a disaster. always said fury is superior but I never would loose respect for a fighter like you are now.

Class a **** u wouldn't last half a second with either man you ****ing joker

Price looked terrible. You knew he wasn't right when he got into the ring. He appeared apprehensive and edgy. The manner of his defeat was shocking. Thompson didn't just beat him, he took his heart. At one point near the end, when he was being bludgeoned against the ropes, Price even started turning away.

Consider the fact that you had a 6'8" heavyweight in his prime being taken apart by a 41 year old veteran with the physique of your average Walrus.

It will take a long time for David Price to come back from this, if ever. A defeat like that scars a fighter.

For those saying Price could be a good domestic and european level fighter that is very true but will he want to be that, he was being hyped as a potential heir to the klitschko's, and i am sure David himself would have always set his sights on being a world champion, will he want to be a domestic level fighter to him that is not what he would have hoped for so knowing he isnt world level he might walk away, a lot of domestic level fighters see that as their level so not being world level doesnt bother them they are at the level they hoped for

That's an oxymoron, you can't say you're a "boxing fan" then say you're only interested in top 15 fighters, true boxing fans enjoy all levels of boxing as long as its entertaining
