Exactly, the fight is for entertainment only. It has no bearing on the sport. JMM has clearly shown to people who know boxing, that he is the better of the 2. Jmm has money he is trying to secure his legacy.
If it were up to Bob Arum this would be quote for 2018
" Pac vs Marquez 9 the blubber match"

They dont watch because they care about Manny...they watch because this is THE most gambling obsessed nation earth..a Pacquaio fight is THE biggest gambling event of the year....THAT is why it shuts down.

    Marquez > Pacquiao, no doubt.

What we want to know is can Pacquiao tame these hungry young lions; Rios, and probably Mathysee or Garcia. That's the thing that we have been asking for a while now.

This is what's intriguing about this match.

In the way Tarver is better than RJJ and Junior Jones is better than Barrera.

Actually the natives usually spell it Pilipino if they're talking about their countrymen. Was there for a brief period.

The Chinese aren't going to be there to watch Manny that's for sure. Heck, will Manny even show up with his gambling problems? As you said, it's all about gambling. I doubt the Chinese will bet on the fight much. Betting on sports is not that big of a thing with Asians, at least from what I've seen in Vegas.

I gotta admit, if I was pacman's manager, I can't think for a better guy for him to fight. Rios showed in his loss to Alvardo that he can only ko guys who stand right infront of him, Rios isn't the brightest bulb on the shelf, Alvardo can slug but moved his feet a little and was making Rios miss alot. If pacman can't beat Rios he should retire, there is no easier boxer for him to beat who isn't a complete **** box.

ATG --- my ass. He was not much more than an average fighter. Never did have a chin. Rios beats him easily. Rios much to strong, hits harder, way better conditioning, way tougher. PAC has no chance.

People keep talking about the winner of the garcia fight. They both fight for GBP, that is the problem. Top rank has 3 guys at 147 that matter. Pac,JMM,and bradley. The reason these fights don't matter is we know if he wins he has only 2 guys he can face who matter, JMM and Bradley. By re-uping his contract with Top rank he shut himself out from the rest of the division. This is the main reason Pac has fought JMM 4 times. Top rank does not have anyone else. Rios is the best they can do. Look up the Golden boy fighters at 147 and you will see, they have all of the named fighters at 147.

Pacman actually looked very good in his last fight with Marquez until JMM connected on that right. It looked like Pacman was going to stop him within the next round or 2 (maybe not, who knows Marquez is one of the most resilient boxers in history.)

It really all depends on how much did that knockout take away from Pacman both physically and mentally. If it really messed him up and he gets trigger shy in the ring against Rios, than it might be a 50/50 fight.

If Pacman shows up the same way he didn't against JMM in their last fight, than RIos is going to get knocked out inside 5-6 rounds, no doubt about it.

It'd be a sad day for boxing if a legend like Pacquiao gets knocked out by an overrated **** like Rios.

Exactly this thread was just created to press the buttons of Pacquiao fans . Manny Pacquiao who is such an accomplished fighter . To call him just another "average" fighter that right there reveals your lack of boxing knowledge

I agree Pac is a very good fighter and he should beat Rios, That however does not mean that Rios is not handpicked, Pac needs a rebound and Rios is the key.
