I think this is a great matchup for both fighter's. Clearly, Thompson would be a step up for Wilder. How much better a payday can Thompson get elsewhere? No way is he going to get a fight with Wlad, Povetkin, or Pulev. Would Haye fight Thompson to tweak Wlad? If Thompson got another "young gun" win, maybe he could face Vitali. That would be an interesting fight. Two awkward (in a good way), tall, long reach, veterans going at it, Why Not?
Love to see it. Thompson, even at 41, is light-years better than any of the stiffs Wilder has fought. He just might be the guy to expose the glass that fraud is hiding in his mandible.
Deontay's team knows better than to put him in with the Tiger after just witnessing what happened with Price, another big prospect with a dodgy beard. Thompson would derail that train.
Yeah, you can count on them putting him with another no-hoper, either some local bar patron or a has-been never-was like Fraudley.
Since Thompson got KO'd twice by Wlad, I would have him expose some of these up and coming hype jobs to see if they are the real deal or not.
I think Thompson is a stiff test for any supposed American Heavyweight hope, guys like Wilder, Mitchell and all others seeking credibility can apply this litmus test. Thompson the heavyweight contender gate keeper, you can slide Tyson Fury here for a spin, but he is already going to have his mandible severely tested by D. Haye. that's OF COURSE IF FURY GOES THROUGH WITH IT, I HAVE MY DOUBTS.
Wilder has already refused to fight Thompson. Thompson is the best American heavyweight and would knock Wilder out.
Doesnt really matter he fought only 4 rounders, he has better stamina period; Price gassed out after 3 rounds...and Price was supposed to pace himself for a longer fight. Price was just terrible, i feel sorry for him since he's a good guy, but he was utter crap. Thompson didnt look amazing either, he showed his age. Wilder dispatches old man thompson early on.
Yes. Tony "The 0-Taker" Thompson. Smashing the dreams of hypejobs everywhere with his unrivaled mediocrity.
Ummmmmm.....Wilder stayed no less than 8 feet away from Kelvim Price until he landed landed that singular R hand that ended it. No way does Thompson allow that shlt. Thomspon would KO Wilder with the first solid L hand he landed. And since Wilder has NO jab.....NONE.....it would be EARLY...... EARLY:deal
