Who should Price's "redemption" opponent have being?

Since it's obvious TT was just a level above Price and Price just wasn't ready for an opponent of his calibre.

Personally I think either Helenius or Malik Scott would have been good opponents for Price. Both undefeated so would have been a good victory for him, both flawed fighters who can easily be beat yet good enough to be a decent test of Price's abilities and neither are exactly big punchers.

Someone like Towers, Leapai or even Tor Hamer.

  3. No helenius can bang and Scott can box
With prices confidence so low he needed someone he could beat but not stop
Get rounds in and try to put the work in the gym into practise

Sorry to change the subject but I can see price being in with McDermott for British or Browne/towers for the commenwealth
If a success he will go into 2014 as a champion still and a top 30 heavyweight who has only lost to tony Thompson twice, also he can make a move up as he is still a name and vulnerable.perfect opponent for a promoter so he will get opportunities I'm sure

It's not all doom and gloom

Price should try luring Danny Williams out of retirement. That's a fight he can win.

I thought Kelvin Price beat Danny Williams a month or so ago. Did he announce his retirement?

Either way, "Domestic" David Price needs to concentrate on domestic opposition and stay away from those nasty Americans and Euros.

I am a history geek, and I cannot think of any other occasion in history where the “redemption opponent” for an up and coming fighter who has suffered their first loss, has been the same man!

    Some bad management there.

Should have put him in with Monte Barrett, a durable but not outstanding opponent. He's been around and would give price rounds without posing a huge threat.

    Great shouts.

Any fighter with any ambition should be made to go through guys like this or Zack Page.

I'd reckon Kevin Johnson should be in that bracket too but he's have been too tough for Price.

Retrospect is a great thing.Id never have thought it,but Thompson was absolutely the wrong man and a massive step up for David.I thought a big one, yes, but not as big as it turned out to be.Tony still a far better fighter than I thought.Dont agree about Johnson.Orthodox boxer, not as tall, maybe not as big a hitter.David points winner, like Fury,I think.Malik Scott definitely not viable.Too quick and tricky.Hell prove this against Chisora IMO although Ive a feeling that particular fight won't happen.
