Andersons chin has withstood some heavy blows

The one that KOd him seemed like a nothing punch, but how many people have you ever seen punched in the chin while in the position Anderson found himself in? He was like a fully extended accordion. He was leaning backwards at 45 degrees, so God knows where his weight was

If this were in the boxing forum people would be saying that he is a bum, is over rated, is over-the-hill and should retire.

What's worse is that his momentum was bringing him right into the punch, instead of rolling with it. Everyone claiming fix has probably never been punched enough in real life to realize what a difference that makes.

I'd also bet that he got a concussion with the way his head bounced off the mat from the follow up shot. Silva's quite lucky he didn't get seriously injured in that sequence following the knockdown hook.

Yeah, think about it. This guy's supposed to be one of the best ever. Yet he gets annihilated in a fight he's heavily favored to win. It says something about the fragility of his whiskers, no question - and the overall quality of MMA fighters.

I don't know how you can be a fan of boxing and say stupid things like this. It's almost like you've never seen someone get KO'd. It's simple: anyone gets KO'd if hit at the right angle right on the button. All you need is enough momentum to get the neck to snap enough and anyone goes out. Boxers don't have better chins. Boxers have better defense. They also have pillows on their hands to absorb shots better.

That said, Anderson's chin isn't bad. He got caught on a bad angle, momentum moving INTO the punch, hands down, neck relaxed, right on the button. Also, he wasn't dropped with an arm punch. There was definitely core involved at the minimum. Considering that the feet were firmly planted, it's not unreasonable to assume that the punch did start in the legs.

Watch enough people get KO'd and you'll understand how KO's work. If nothing else, watch a youtube video or something to understand the science of it.

Him getting KO'd says nothing of the overall quality of MMA fighters. The only thing I will say is that boxers have better punch defense. But that's like saying football players are better than hockey players because they handle hits better.

:good i must have watched the KO sequence at least a dozen times in slo-mo on my hi-tech VCR, and just before the KO punch, Chris briefly pauses and moves forward into the punch. It looks like an arm punch but its not

Now that requires an insanely cool head given the situation. chris weidman is something pretty special :deal

People are severely underestimating Weidman. He's got good coaches. The elbow he used to KO Munos was something special as well. He may not be as flashy as Jon Jones, but I'd say they're about equal in the natural talent department. He's the type that learns quick and improves quickly.

I believe that the Mark Munos that crushed Boetch (no easy feat) was present at his fight with Weidman and Weidman destroyed him. The most dangerous guys in MW are wrestlers IMO. That being the case, Weidman remains champ for a while. If Anderson doesn't get a quick rematch, father time will catch up to him and he'll lose the rematch to Weidman. Right now I see no threat to Weidman.
