Reports on radio five live said last night that Froch is in talks with Groves about a meeting in november!

Do you think its too soon for George and is it as much a mismatch as the casual boxing fans say it is?

I think it is too soon but groves is not to be underestimated.

He has come on a lot in the last 2 years and finally has a solid look about him.

He also has impressive timing and seems to have better balance these days.

Neither of them are massive for the weight and Groves has the better movement.

Froch clearly has the better chin but I think Groves edges the one punch power purely on his timing. He seems to punch very cleanly.

I would favour Froch at this stage but would not be shocked if Groves won.

Froch can be out boxed. The Dark Lord will surely come up with a masterplan to do this.

I suspect it won't happen till next year anyway,

Kessler would smash Groves let alone Froch.

Do you feel Groves is at the same stage he was when he faught Degale?

And added to that his game plan for that fight was to stick and move.

They were specifically trying not to land power punches so that he never kept his feet planted for long enough for Degale to come back.

this fight was always likely. Rather than go for the fights the people actually want (Ward 2 or Kessler 3) Hearn will dupe the casuals into believing this as a PPV worthy fight (they'll fall for it too cuz of all the hype a all British fight will attract).

Even when Froch and Barry Hearn (Eddie was on hols) were on Ringside the week after the Kessler fight, Froch was talking Ward, Kessler etc and you could tell Hearn was edging towards Groves relatively easy fight to make for Matchroom and a bigger cut of the profits for them.

According to BBC Sport Froch said it most likely will happen at some point as he is mandatory, but probably not until next year.

Groves needs a couple more fights against high ranked opponents i think, but obviously this wont happen now he knows the Froch fight is on the cards.

Id like to see Groves do well but this fight is too soon for him, i cant see what he has to gain from it when he can buiild himself better in a year with fighting differing styled fighters then take on Froch or whoever the blet holders are

I agree to a point, but still don't think he has the power to test Froch, remember he has been knocking out people a few levels down from Carl's league.

I think a better fight would be a rematch between Degale and Groves, as I think both of them have improved a lot

Groves was on the back foot and was countering. Not really using his power punches.
