Can't think of anyone else actually, good point. He's also better than some of the actual belt holders of the 2000s like Ruiz, Valuev, Peter and arguably Sanders. Thompson really is a decent boxer and one of the few legit names on Wlad's resume. Just a solid, B-level heavy. Nothing wrong with that, really.

Maybe but Thompson never had the chance to prove it. Guys like Povetkin, Chambers, Chagaev, and Haye might claim to be the best of the rest and Thompson never beat them.

I mean, nobody ever picked Thompson as a tune up fight and even when he was a contender, he was pretty much avoided. I also think the Krasniqi win is a good win on Tony's resume. I also wonder why he never gained a title shot for the much easier to get, WBA Title.

I'm not sure I would pick Chisora to beat TT. Your giving Chisora to much credit for WLad ducking him. Fury beats TT with ease. Price is not near the fighter Fury is. I admit I bought into the Price hype do to his punching power.

Watch his first fight with Wlad, it was competitive up until he got stopped in the 11th, Thompson nicked a few rounds.

He wasn't very good during the K2 era, but he was active. If he's allowed in on something of a technicality then it's obviously David Tua.

I think a younger Tony Thompson could have given either Klitschko a very tough night in the ring.
