Did Foreman's chin improve with age. Why did Ali drop him but not Holy or Moorer?

The fact that he got him on the chin still doesn't make it a question of his chin.

If you don't understand why...oh well. Not my problem.

He might as well have hit him in the arm. Foreman was done. IB has the right of it.

Ali dropped George, you do not gas out in 8 rounds, when you train to fight 15. Had foreman truly been gassed he would have stopped punching and went into covering head up mode. Instead ali just nailed him with 4-6 crisp shots. Ali was a big guy, Foreman had insiginifacant weight and height on him. Ali knocked guys out while dancing backwards for goodness sake. Foreman hit harder, but not everyone can take Ali's punches. Ali was a fighter who came on late, he had amongst the best endurance of end early modern fighter, as soon as normal fighters slow down that is when he unleashes a flurry and knocks you down. Most fighters cannot fight for 3 minutes a round. Ali could. It is not an issue of gas, it is an issue of not being able to take a punch from a hard puncher. I don't think Ali would have knocked out Oliver McCaull. Even if Mccall was tired.

You think wise Old George Foreman DID select the largest, most toughest hardest punchers of the 1990s? wow, I must have somehow missed Foreman v Lewis, Bruno, Bowe and Ruddock!

You think wise old Foreman WAS as confident in his speed an accuracy that he was as keen to punch himself to exhaustion as he was in his younger days?

You think old man Foreman was as keen to lead and exchange blows as he was in his younger days?

    Wow!

It wasn't the punching power that knocked him down. It was his lack of stamina and pacing himself. Foreman punched himself out in Zaire. Ali just had to push him over. When Foreman was older he barely moved and conserved his energy.

  11. It's got more to do with Foreman learning as a fighter... his tactics in the Ali fight were abysmal and I mean fooking abysmal. In the 90's he was just a more calmer more intelligent practitioner which meant he didn't put himself in the position were he got that exhausted.

If 24 year old Foreman had the mindset of the 45 year old Foreman then Ali could well of been in the ****.

It's all about patients, tactics and game plans, 24 year old didn't have any. 45 year old Foreman did.

Same with Ali, the 32 year old Ali wasn't the fleet footed Ali that fought Liston but he used different tactics and worked round his limitations, that's exactly what Foreman ended up doing.

  12. On a side note I think Moorer-Foreman the fix was in and so did Teddy Atlas straight after the fight or at least he hinted or implied he thought maybe Moorer had been bought off behind the scenes because he was doing exactly the opposite to what he was getting told to do, especially at the time of the KO.

Atlas voiced this concern only once in a interview done the day after the fight and never voiced it again. I thought the KO looked suspicious when it happened, when I caught the interview and Atlas's concerns about his own fighter... It definitely made me think.

If you google it I ain't alone in thinking something was suss with that fight. A lot of dollar was made off Old George becoming a champ at that age.

  13. In that weather and with those tactics you do... you can clearly see by round 6 Foreman was totally gassed he couldn't even get power on his punches anymore.

What a crazy comment to make.... go and watch the fight.

As for Ali fighting 3 minutes a round... What the hell you going on about, Ali was a master of tying up and getting rests and taking time off in a round without doing much but making it look like he was busy. Especially Ali in the 70's.
