By the way, Golovkin faced slick, slippery black fighters in the past. He defeated Andre Direll, whom I hold in the highest esteem.

This. If GGG can put together a few highlight reel KOs against high profile opponents(Sergio, Jr., etc.), I wouldn't be shocked if Floyd considered it. Don't forget that Gennady would have to go down to 154 or no fight.

I've already seen some posts about Floyd needing to beat Andre Ward to secure his legacy.

    GGG by brutal KO.

GGG has already said Mayweather is his dream fight:

GGG is a small middleweight. He looks like he could easily make 154 pounds.

GGG says he would go to 154 to fight Mayweather or Alvarez:

Since Floyd fought Oscar at 154 like 6 years ago and weighed about 150 for that fight, and since he's fighting Canelo at a 152 pound catchweight, I don't see why Mayweather-GGG can't happen.

Of course, Floyd would have to accept this fight. And if you thought Floyd wasn't interested in fighting Margarito, just try to get him to take a GGG fight.

It would be great for GGG to be able to fight both Mayweather and Ward in the future. Sadly, only one of those two fighters seems likely to take the challenge.

@ 154 i can see Floyd winning on points

I'm not sure if Golovkin can make 154 without issues and Floyd probably wants to fight at catchweight below 154

    Please, explain this.

I will give you Macklin. He is the only top 10 MW GGG has fought.

I'll even do you a favor and spot you Proksa although he was trash and proven to be certified trash after losing to Kerry Hope.

Now, please elaborate on your less than stellar statement I have quoted.

Yes but again...Golovkin will need to significantly raise his profile to be a viable opponent for Mayweather. That means he'll need to string together a few really good wins and create buzz for a PPV showdown.

Murray is probably going to be his next opponent but after that, he's really got to pressure DiBella to make fights with Chavez Jr. and Sergio happen. After that, he should have sufficient leverage to get a fight with Canelo or Mayweather.

The fight will never happen. GG is too big for Floyd. Floyd fried his fish while GG has his own fish to fry.
