Campillo gave cloud hell and many thought he won that fight including me. And the way kovalev dominated campillo from the opening bell until the stoppage impressed me alot and the way he continues to steamroll through top opponents is one of the reasons why i say this guy should be talked about more within the boxing communty and i think he's a complete fighter.

I also think kovalev is the one fighter that puts fear in golovkin fans, because he would give ggg the beating of his life. After stevenson ko's bellew and kovalev beats the brakes off cleverly, stevenson will be next to get destroye also. B-Hop will be kovalev's toughest fight tho,and it would be grat to ee how he deals with a oldschool worldclass veteran like hopkins ho still has it.

Well. He has a tough fight against Cleverly. If he lets it go to the cards lets just say he may not get the credit he deserves for the work he puts in.

Well Cloud is garbage can can be outboxed. Even Yusuf Mack was doing it until he got KO'd.
Still though, demolishing Campillo like that was impressive

    He gets enough hype already.

He's one of my favorites though.

Kovalev's beat down of Campillo was a very good win and he deserves a lot of credit for it. Campillo is a top 10, possibly 5 at the time, lightheavyweight and Kovalev ran him over.

I do think Kovalev has gotten a lot of credit for the win. He's rated highly, going to fight on HBO, and has developed a bit of a following and a lot of that comes from the Campillo fight.

He is the real deal but unless he can TKO Cleverly his train will be derailed..

Also he is not as good as GGG.

Well, that might something to do with the fact they are two weight classes apart from each other ;)

Actually Kovalev reminds me of Golovkin a lot.

Gotta admit I don't know a lot about it, but the two sparred sometimes (Kovalev was at summit with Sanchez until the Simakov RIP fight).

Kovalev says Golovkin is 'a very tough guy to fight' and sometimes sessions went one way , sometimes another.

If you're going to the fight, I'll buy you a pint either way. I got Kovalev, but if Clev can even take it into the late rounds he gets big props.

I can't figure Clev on the latest interview - is he pretending to appear anxious when he talks about Kovalev, y'know the hesistations an' swallowing an that?

kovalev get plenty of hype on this forum do to being white. I guess it seems he does not have much because damn Golovkin lovers can't go 5 mins without hyping him.

I'm black, and i got much respect for kovalev's boxing ability. He has underrated footwork and he places his punches very well and the fact that he's relentless makes him that much more impressive.

Respect to Kovalev for his dominating win over Campillo, but I am sure something was wrong with Campillo that night. He never looked comfortable, he never looked like he was ready or willing to engage Kovalev in any way.
