Whether he has the tools is not the right question - I don't see how it can be in doubt. Anyone who thinks he is chinny, unfit, jabless etc. is obviously only seeing what they want to see. The real question is can he deploy them? The one problem that Fury has bigtime is poor reflexes. I've always been the first to defend his knockdowns as being due to being walking in, square on with hands down and for the most part I believe that's the truth. But he should have seen those punches coming. That's going to be his problem against Haye. Fury needs to do one thing and one thing only to make this fight really competitive - keep his hands glued to his lugs when he's not punching. The second the hands come down Haye will flatten him. Fury's smart enough to understand this, whether he's discipined enough to do it for potentially 12 rounds is another question entirely.
I think it's a betting man's dream this fight no one gives fury a chance but look at it fRom This perspective there both beatable they both got there strengths and weaknesses since when had haye became unbeatable he looked **** against wlad and he took loads of big shots from Chisora. He been inactive for a year since on the other hand fury has improved consistently. Haye has one hope a ko. I'm seeing a vastly improved defence from fury and a disciplined performance haye ain't Cunningham he can walk up on haye like that. Tyson. Is being judged on his last performance which was purely for entertainment purposes
Fury is a clumsy big lump and leaves his chin wide open, Haye will knock him out within 3 rounds. Fury also doesn't punch correctly, he arm punches.
I just don't see where the Fury hype is coming from. It reminds me of the Enzo episode; Fury's best win is of a similar calibre (Johnson = Braithwaite), too. As far as I can tell, Fury is more of a sucker for a good right hand and might even be less durable than 2008's 'Big Mac' if the Cunningham debacle is anything to go by. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if this ends up being over within the first minute. Fury's options are to cover up and do nothing in the hope that Haye has a brain freeze and becomes uncharacteristically reckless, or - more likely - he does exactly what he said he would on Ringside and marches oafishly forward, getting rendered horizontal as soon as Haye decides to throw a punch.
Are you kidding? Cunningham would have probably KO'd Enzo if anything. Cunningham is a champion of a higher caliber than Braithwait as well.
It's all relative. USS was not a big puncher at cruiserweight. That Fury was floored badly by him in the HEAVYWEIGHT division bodes ill. Remember, this is after being badly hurt by Firtha (25% KO ratio) and tasting canvas against Pajkic (28%). There's an awful lot to suggest that Tyson will be getting ample sleep as soon as Haye lands. Plenty of fighters have dodgy chins, but the best of them know that they need to avoid getting hit there and fight accordingly.
Fury will keep haye at arms length fir a few rounds then start working on the inside. Name me a big heavyweight with a inside came. Like furys did I mention his stamina? A
Yep, I think so. If Fury has the mentality he had for the Johnson fight, where he stuck to the game plan and didn't get emotional, I think he jabs his way to a decision.
It's because he has a big mouth and entertains people. Because it was based on his boxing performances we'd all agree this fight is a massive mis-match.
I keep hearing about his "inside game". This is the same "inside game" that gets him bounced around by non-punchers. Focusing disproportionately on your "inside game" when you're 6'9 and fragile might not be the best recipe for enduring success.
When fury thinks he has a easy nights work he stands square on with his hands down. Simple. Dose he think it will be easy??? Haye will be fighting the best fury you have ever seen dose haye have the heart to do it again??? Bearing in mind he has been a celebrity for how long. Tyson never stopped being a warrior...
A) Cunningham was the only man able to stop Huck, something even Povetkin couldn't do. B) Cunningham put on size and may have been hitting harder. Also Cunningham won't have the best KO ratio because from a very early part of his career he has been facing tough guys that don't go down easily. Now with regards to Pajic he looked like a decent enough puncher to me, KO ratio's are not everything, everyone was writing Danny Garcia off as a non-puncher before Khan because his KO ratio was poor. Andre Ward was dropped and badly hurt by Darnell Boone, but now he has beaten guys like Kessler and Froch. All of your points have massive holes in them. Haye does have the power to KO Fury but that doesn't mean Fury will go down easily and it doesn't mean Fury will get caught either. Haye has been hurt by much smaller punchers than Fury as well.
I've seen no evidence of this "best Fury" to date. Yeah, he beat Johnson; I think that sheds about as much light on his ability to beat Haye as defeating Wayne Braithwaite did Maccarinelli's. I'll believe it when I see it.
